That's also very misleading, no?

Nah, the headset column for that model isn't marked with a dot, showing you that this one does not include it but the other does.

Whilst they both have a storage size listed in the same column, with no distinction as to which is a HDD or flash memory.

Oh look, an Xbox LIVE logo in the 4GB column. That's perfectly explicit. You numpty.

Did you miss the page filling pictures posted earlier, that information isn't there and you just grabbed that online.

For clarity, I resized this one:

No distinction made between the type of storage on either model, it's just 4GB/Go and 250GB/Go.

I didn't realise till the other week that this was the case with some games...there you go. It is what it is, no point in throwing a tantrum about it.

Not sure why anyone here would buy a 4GB console anyway really, the HDD one isn't that much more expensive, its going to cost a lot more to buy a seperate HDD when they come out (expect them to be at least £80).

The Matte one looks better.

I was going to buy one and change the HD for the exact same reason. Might buy the Kinect one now and sell that off seperately.

To be fair, I think the "no headset" marking is quite clear, and I wouldn't have thought that the 4GB would be anything other than flash memory. But this thread is the first I've heard about the co-op needing a hard drive, so even knowing those other things, I would have had no idea that the 4GB model was unsuitable for ODST and Reach. So your average punter is going to be completely unaware.

You can access Xbox Live without a HDD, you can play online multiplayer without a HDD, you can't play co-op. The box for Crackdown said clearly, the Reach box doesn't, that's the problem.

I would have sympathy for that as the Reach box doesn't make it obvious, I have no sympathy for buying an Arcade system and not knowing it doesn't have a HDD.

Because I know what I'm buying before I spend £200?

I think you can play online, it's co-op that's the problem.

So did you know before this thread that the 4GB flash would not work? Were you given any reason to believe that it wouldn't, or are you still just clinging to the semantics about whether the 4GB flash is the same as a HDD or not?

Because as I say, to anyone with two brain cells to rub together, they would assume it would work just fine. All the components are there for it to. Hell, the flash is probably faster than the HDD.

I didn't think I'd need more than 4GB, what with the XBLA filesizes and all my media being housed elsewhere.

Theres presumably some technical reason why it doesn't work in certain games and modes.

The XBLA filesize limit seems to be long gone.

Oh yeah, the pictures were so big that I didn't see all the dots underneath the icons. :fp:

The Arcade system has beem like this for 5 years, it has no HDD so yes I knew that some features from some games wouldn't work. Burnout Paradise and Crackdown co-op for starters and Xbox games as they need a HDD.

I don't know why they needed a HDD technically but I know they needed one. The Arcade system originally had no internal memory, then it came with an external 64mb MU, then when NXE needed more memory it came with 256mb, they have now upgraded that to 4gb.

I'm surprised people on this forum didn't know that but I did.

Knowing these muppets this is all a set up anyway.

I thought it was just doubled to 300MB?

You obviously aren't up to date...theres no limit on XBLA games any more. There have been a few recently that have been 2GB in size.

Also installing your games makes a big difference, definitely worth doing, but you'll need the space for it.

Ok so we can all agree. Microsoft should have a message on both the games this affects, that is visible and the Arcade unit itself should also come with a warning?

So according to that comparison chart they don't include hi-def cables anymore?
