Google 2FA - locked out with new phone

Hi guys, need a bit of help.

Got a new phone the other day and after swapping sims and updating software etc i've found that i'm locked out of one of my accounts (coinbase). 2FA doesnt seem to be recognising my account. Or rather coinbase doesnt seem to be recognising my 2FA codes generated by the new phone.

I've tried 2 or 3 times, and worried i'll get locked out or something equally gooseberry fool.

I strawberry floatin hate swapping phones because this gooseberry fool happens everytime.

Anyway, anyone got any ideas? The google help system is just a wild goose chase, that leads right back to the start each time.

Do Coinbase have a customer service you can contact? Tell them 2FA isn't working. I've never dealt with them in particular, but other companies will have you go through other security measures to gain access.

Yes, although they can take days or weeks to get back to you! I'll give it a try.

EDIT: Got it working. But only when i put the sim in my old phone and changed the devices over. Dunno what i wouldve done if id lost my phone.

How did you move the codes to the new phone?

Did you keep the original QR codes or do it in some other way?

Might I recommend Authy it is considerably better and syncs codes between devices and stuff.

I logged in with old phone first. Then swapped the sims to new phone. Coinbase on PC used the security section to 'manage' devices and added new device. It wasnt quite as seemingly simple as that though :slol: God knows what i would've done if id lost my old phone. I need to address that at some point. I need to move the BTC off the platform to be honest - it has risks.
