Rumours circulating that it'll be a Amazon Prime type deal: some games will come with the subscription whilst others will be paid for.

You can measure your latency to your local google data centre here - http://www.gcping.com/

19 for me.

For Azure - http://www.azurespeed.com/

26 for me.

My Azure latency is all over the place and range from about 40 to 300 and that's my closest server in London and I'm in Bedfordshire :slol: :fp: .

My google latency for Japan was only 400 so I have no idea what's going on.

My latency is higher with Cardiff than London...

I live about 15 miles away from Cardiff.

Physical distance isn't the only factor in ping times, although it is usually a big one.

Maybe the servers know I've been less than complimentary about this service :shifty: .

Google is 25 seconds in London with Belgium sometimes beating it.
Azure is... around 40 seconds for UK south.

Stadia it is then!

Yeah, my Azure ping is 27 to 40-ish whilst my Stadia ping is 22 to 25. Confirmed that I'll be playing on Stadia rather than PS or Xbox :o ...

Same here, in Essex my latency is about half on google (London 14ms and the Belgium server 18ms) compared to azure (London 32-60ms)

Lowest for me was Belgium at 34ms (Google).

But I'm on wifi and fibre is only around 38mbps.

So are they not really at E3?

Just getting some announcements out tomorrow?

Why risk being overshadowed when you can take the initiative? A price point and release date isn't going to be headline news right after an MS conference and it allows google to get ahead of the xCloud demonstration that's inevitably coming.

Oh yeah for sure, I agree with the strategy but for some reason I had it in my head they were doing something at E3 next week.

Conference at 5pm but a canadian website has posted the details early in french -

(note: it's a canadian website so it's a possibility all prices are in canadian dollars, and not american dollars)

- Launch in November in 14 countries (including Canada)
- You can preorder the "founder's edition" of Stadia for 169$ today, which includes the gamepad, a Chromecast Ultra (which is 6cm in length), Destiny 2 and three months of subscription
- Stadia works through a subscription only at first. The Stadia Pro sub costs 11.99$ per month and will include streaming up to 4K/60fps. Note that only "older" games will be included in this sub, and more recent games will have to be bought separately.
- A separate sub will be available in 2020, and is completely free. It'll only allow up to 1080p streaming, and won't include any game like the Pro sub.
- 10mbps in download/1mbp in upload is the minimal requirement, with 35mbps required for 4K "optimal comfort".
- You'll need the Chromecast for Stadia to work at launch, but it's planned to work through any Google device with Google Chrome in 2020.
- Games planned include Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, The Divison 2, DOOM, all three Tomb Raider games.
- Line-up will have 31 games at launch.

So, for the U.K., that's around £100. Hmmn... a little more than I'd expected but still far less than purchasing a next-gen console. I feel that Stadia is going to be an attractive option that provides huge competition for Sony and Microsoft.

And next year you won't have to pay anything other than maybe buying the controller when you can just stream the free sub through Chrome on your laptop or whatever. Obviously you'll then have to buy the games but spending nothing or say £30 for the controller upfront may be attractive for some. Especially if they push it through Android, youtube, Prime, Chrome etc.
