Yeah, that is a real shame. I always check out the odd sale, some of which are decent, even if they're multiplatform.

Got a few things that I'm happy to play on various devices without subscribing to Pro.

Fingers crossed some of those come to the store, or at least to the subscription.

I've just ordered a Chromecast and controller so I can play Baldur's Gate 3. They were discounted on the Google store so I thought I may as well.

Did you get them together in the bundle? Just because not all Chromecasts work with Stadia, that's why I mentioned about the "Chromecast with Google TV" being supported from tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy it anyway, I've really enjoyed mine.

And early access to Baldurs Gate where they say there might be bugs etc? Yikes, fair play, you must be a big fan. Or perhaps I'm just a big chicken.

Though, in fairness, I jumped onboard with Cyberpunk

If anyone has the Chromecast with Google TV model, I think the compatibility with Stadia is great. I've been playing this for the last few nights and I'm really impressed.

E.g., when it recommends programmes or films you might like, you'll also see a thumbnail for the last game or two you've played, so you can jump straight in, so it's integrated really well.

I've also decided to stop messing about with games on the subscription service, and get stuck into some of the ones I've bought. Yikes, hadn't been realised I'd gotten quite so many.

I think, combined with all the other systems, that it's very possible (even desirable) that I don't buy another game at all, on anything, for at least the next 12 months.

I was looking to play Sekiro as the next game I stream on twitch. Turns out it's on sale on Stadia and was about £15 cheaper than anywhere else so bought it on there.

Yeah, there really are some decent sales on there from time to time.

It's how I've ended up picking up a stack of games just as late night impulse purchases.

Hope you enjoy it!

Stadia news can be a little thin nowdays, but... there are now 26 "free to try" full games available through Stadia that you can run instantly without creating an account.

VG247 wrote:New trials include Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Far Cry 6 along with Far Cry Primal, Outriders, Golf With Your Friends, Lake, Deliver Us the Moon, The Falconeer, Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles, Through the Darkest of Times, and Deathrun TV.

The majority of trials will allow you to play for around 30 minutes. Some are a bit longer, such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla which is 120 minutes, some last around the 90-minute mark, and others allow you to play for one hour.

So what’s left? Xcloud, Luna and Nvidea’s effort?

I’m fairly sure Nintendo and Sony both have cloud streaming offerings but I’d have to check

The switch has cloud games and Sony have their cloud services but they not the same, is Xcloud the only one to work on pc, console and phones/tablets?

I’m sad to see it go because it genuinely delivered on its promise of lag-free streaming but the purchase model was always going to be an uphill battle from wary gamers who have been proven right. xCloud was a better deal from its first day online.

Still, I look forward to a few quid from Google in January. They haven’t specified how the refunds will work though. We could well end up with Play Store credit instead of cash.

And plenty of developers seem determined to cripple the Nvidia service because they aren't getting a cut, despite people having to outright buy the games on Steam/GoG/Epic anyway in order to play them on the service in the first place.

No, but it’s the only one that works on all those if your phone/tablet has an Apple on the back. But that’s also true of GeForce Now and Luna doesn’t work on consoles so I don’t know what your criteria is for PS+ not hanging with your list.

The browser streaming on xCloud is excellent. I play Fortnite with it weekly and never have any issues at all.

Legitimately surprised it lasted as long as it did. I expected the plug to be pulled like a year ago.

Google sure are good at killing off the half baked services they throw out there!

Stadia as it was sold in the initial reveal was quite compelling, but sadly most of the more interesting features never materialised
