There's actually a lot of rumours going around on ResetEra that Google have funded some Sega exclusives for this thing.

StreamCast would be a brilliant name, part of the reason I love PlayStation and Nintendo is nostalgia, it's great that the platforms I'm playing on originated in the 80s/90s.

If this Google thing pays homage to Sega in a way it'd be a big plus for me.

(Technically PS4 was the first streaming home console with PS Now).

Didn't Onlive launch with a box you could hook up to the TV?

Only google have a comparable amount of cloud servers to Microsoft so It'll be interesting to see what the tech shows. I think XCloud will have a massive head start with name recognition, Exclusives, Windows 10 and Gamepass but Google could dent other companies more.

There's a few ways this could go, it could be a success and everyone will have/want one, it might just get mobile folk on board and 5G isn't standard, or this could go the way the Valve console did and die.

Yes but Google, like Apple, are about to invent it.

Judging by most people's internet speeds latency will prevent this going mass market for many years.

Still, it's a viable way of delivering games and one that'll grow through the coming decade.

It'll be interesting to see which games are offered, I'm expecting it to be the streaming equivalent of Steam/Epic with only PC games available.

Guess we'll know for sure in an hour.

This streaming lark, in it's current form is simply not good enough for online games, far too many call and return commands would be being issued in that situation. As I said before, if it's a free bolt on for Xcloud to be part of Gamepass or Live I'll dabble in some single player stuff but seeing as I play online majority of the time, the idea doesn't really interest me right now.

So Ubisoft, Id and EA are going to be on stage!

This has the potential to go a number of ways, could be the biggest shakeup in the gaming industry since MS waded in or it could be some Amazon gaming level gooseberry fool.

I’m expecting a small box you can plug into any screen and stream current gen multiplatform games too as a Netflix style service. You’ll be able to buy games direct or sign up to a pay monthly service for access to everything (from publishers signed up to it). I don’t expect anything running on a new console device or Google to create new studios for exclusives.

Should be very interesting at least.

Judging by the stream it's coming with Red Dead and some EA Sports titles.

The icons are obviously clouds too.

This guy knows the difference between RPGs and NPCs!

For those not watching, it's called Stadia. And now he's talking about bringing games together with youtube :dread:

What's a Chromecast Ultra HDMI streamer compared to a normal Chromecast?
