I don't think I've ever been as uninterested in a system launch as I was for this.
There was 1 game I was maybe going to get when the free version appears (Baldurs Gate 3) and I'm now just going to wait for it to be ported to anything else.
I'd rather buy a Switch just for BG3 and know it has other fantastic games than buy this pile of manure.

Disastrous.

Guy at work bought it and is now getting strawberry floated by lag, he is on google Wi-fi too which says it is optimising stadia for him but it seems to do nothing. He is now looking at moving internet providers to see if it is better,

I did point out it was a waste of time as there are no games on it anyway, but he is a google fan boy so is doomed.

Errkal If your mate has a good ISP speed would changing provider make a difference?

It's funny you mention Baldur's Gate 3 because that's a game I want to play. I don't have a gaming PC so if the wait until a console release is a long I think I might buy this game on Stadia.

Quite a few people, most people that buy a pixel and rant and rave about it, people that bought google Wi-fi tend to be, google have enough services now you get evangelical google nuts the same as you do apple ones.

I didn't think of it that way. Google is just a search engine to me (even though I know android is to do with them).

Yeah for tech and media you can be fully in their world.

Search
Browser
Mobile (hardware and software)
Laptop (hardware and software)
Google home
Chrome cast
Nest doorbell, thermostat and smoke alarm
Stadia
Google Wi-fi
Google internet connection (in USA)
YouTube music
YouTube premium (tv shows etc)
Google books
Google play video for movie and tv show purchase and rental

And more I’ve not thought of I’m sure.

Oh god, what the gooseberry fool?

I'm currently between flats and am unable to wire things up as I'd like and I can feel the WiFi just dying when I play online. I can't begin to imagine what it's like with stadia's issues, too.

Wi-fi is ok with 5ghz Wi-fi, it’s lower range but brilliantly quick. Google Wi-fi works as a mesh so you have multiple APs connected to each other on their own 5ghz wifi, when you connect you connect to any of the APs and you get a blinding speed that routes through the mesh to your interweb. BT Wi-fi works in the same way, I have 2 Wi-fi disks right now and get speedy internet through the whole house on Wi-fi because the APs work together.

I have no idea what any of that means but need to setup WiFi in my new house next month. Should I look at Google WiFi.

Worth a look, although if you are with BT go with their Halo (Complete Wi-fi) package and you get their version, it isn’t as feature rich as Google’s but it is part of your package then and covered by a guarantee that you will get Wi-fi through your home or they will provide more disks to make sure you can.

Google has promised more than 10 Stadia timed-exclusives will be released by July 2020 - but it failed to name the games.

More than 120 games are due to hit Google's streaming service in 2020, Google promised.

"Looking at our upcoming lineup, we are tracking more than 120 games coming to Stadia in 2020, and are targeting more than 10 games in the first half of this year alone that will be only available on Stadia when they launch," Google said in a note to press today.

Think of all the hype coming this year directed at the Xbox Series X, PS5 and rumoured upgrade to Nintendo Switch, Stadia just hasn’t got a chance in hell. Most irrelevant platform since the N-Gage.

I just can't believe the games that it launched with, and is still riding on.

"Hey, the kids like tomb raider right? I know I did at college on my Nintendo playcube. Oh look, there's still tomb raider games, we cant lose!!!!"

Fair play though, the Playcube was a strawberry floating banging console. :datass:
