That's an odd statement given how much money Microsoft have just spent on new developers. They will have plenty of first party content next gen from some very well respected teams.

MS have Rare on their books and look at what they have done so far. I’m sure there are many other acquisitions but nothing of any worth has been released so far.

Jade Raymond (founder of Ubisoft Toronto and Motive Studios) has just confirmed on Twitter she’s now a VP at Google but hasn’t specified what.

Blatantly VP of Gaming. Google may mean business here, be interesting to see what they’ve got lined up.

Industrial designer- "My son plays fifa on his Sony xbox I know about games, I'll design it!"

My guess is they used the fact more playstations sell than Xbox to make the decision they should base it on the PlayStation controller despite the Xbox controller being vastly superior.

They probably did what Amazon did and partnered with a company who already made a pad, then put their own shell over the guts of it.

That thing in that tweet is an insult to both the xbox and playstation controllers. I'm strongly of the opinion that different controllers are better suited for different games (the dualshock has the xbox pad beat hands-down for 2D sidescrollers), but that creation wouldn't even make a good doorstop.

I can't see this being anything other than a PS Now/XCloud competitor.

It'll be interesting to see how they can differentiate themselves and what pricing would be.

Being streaming only, I don't think this will be disruptive to the status quo, at least initially anyway.

If it is a streaming service, I think that Google will look to offer up an extremely competitive price. With their money-laden pockets, I could imagine that they have reached out to big ("A-A-Aaaaaaaaaaaa!") developers for exclusive titles, too. Potentially we could be seeing a heavy-duty new competitor in the gaming sector.

I could be wrong but, for that controller mock-up, I think I read that any pics of it are made-up and based upon a purely descriptive patent that Google lodged. I hope so, anyway :lol:

Maybe it will be more of a Steam/Epic competitor with the only differentiator being he way games are delivered.
