I once bit the side of my mouth hard in my sleep. It got infected. Went to the dentist and they gave me some medication for it.

I can't even remember if I was dreaming or anything.

8-)

I had to drop out when a bunch of use were supposed to see them back in 1995. Made amends a few years back when they were doing the 20 year tour of Infernal Love. Absolutely belting.

It's great. The early stuff is fantastic.
But then it's all fantastic.

Felt like I had an aching back last night and it felt the same this morning. But been poking around and got my wife to take a look just now and I've got a small lump to the side of my spine (not on it). It just feels really sore, especially to the touch. Not sure if it's an insect bite or something that'll just go away by itself. Really cannot be arsed with the GP unless I know it's something serious.

Ah damn I've been ill with what I thought was just a standard viral infection since Monday. I've felt much better overall today even if I felt like gooseberry fool still and now my temp has hit the low 38s. I really hope the fever doesn't get any worse. I already feel so cold and I'm just wearing as loosely fitting clothing as I can and just took some more paracetemol which has been helping.

EDIT: Overnight my temp seems to have dropped a little, it's still high but it's not in fever range now I think so I might be in the clear! I was absolutely freezing yesterday.

EDIT: I've hit that phase of being ill where I've started coughing up the mucus. I know this is a good thing but strawberry float it feels so bad.

It's probably a muscle knot / spasm but it could be a herniated disk. But that's insanely painful so it's probably the former. It could be a displaced rib / minor dislocation or rotation of the rib/spine "joint" (in reality they kind of just sit there so really easy to displace).

Try pressing on the area until you find something kind of moving around, and when it hurts, press harder and hold it there for 30 seconds (counting to 30 properly, one and two, two and three etc). It might subside.

A foam roller might fix, or as terrifying as this sounds (it's pretty hard to make it worse) ask your wife to walk on your back with your head on a pillow to support your neck. On a rug or whatever. It might go click.

Lower back pain is super common and generally posture related or lifting. Take a look at your working posture and your sleeping arrangements. Might need a new mattress or rotate/flip it.

Various MSK for 10+ years. Thank you for using GPcade.

Posture related - could be too much handheld gaming. Better give that a rest for a while, just in case.

Yes. Curvature and hyperextension of the spine. Tend to be looking down at such things because they are too heavy to hold up.

Tuck your chin down until it's touching your neck. And pay attention to your lower rib extension and lower spine. It doesn't feel good after a couple of seconds.

But stuck in a game, for hours... Yeah. That's maybe 10,000 seconds of pain, you just haven't felt it yet.

Thank you for the advice guys, that's somewhat reassuring. My poisonous parrot has been telling me my spine is riddled with cancer tonight but I knew he was being utterly ridiculous

I blame baby Zilnad :simper: Little guy gets his best sleeps in on me, so I've been wearing him in a carrier for 4-5 hours a night while I sit in front of the PC. And my lower back feels strawberry floated tonight so I'm going to have to find an alternative solution. Had a moment tonight where I seemed to be getting some kind of cramp in my neck when I looked down at him so it definitely seems to be that carrying his weight has messed me up this week. I've been using it for weeks now with no issue but the little guy is getting heavier and heavier.

I must say I felt, "That's ten thousand seconds of pain // You just haven't felt it yet" was fairly poetic, so I'm glad someone else noticed

Both lines have the same metre and the same number of syllables.

I do/did write songs though. A long time ago I was talking to some some street chalk artist and they told me that I spoke poetically. That's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me.

tl;dr I'm a strawberry floating genius and this is my work  ;)
