The best song in Odyssey is Break Free and I'll hear nothing to the contrary. It is a valid contender for top Mario song though. That game's music (and everything else) is so good.

I like "One Bowser, Great Nation"

Baby Mario was taught to sing it at school

Another thing I've been pondering: what would the answer be among a group of gamers who were ten years younger on average than us? What about twenty years? Would it just be [insert Minecraft track here] vs. [insert Fortnite track here]?

Does Minecraft even have music? Does Fortnite?

Ugh, I'm so out of touch!

I know Minecraft had some, they had to remix them into Smash. Not a clue about Fortnite. I know the characters dance? Presumably they have something to dance to?

Apologies for the pregnant pause before posting my admiration for this acronym...

and

But weirdly it took me ages to even find that fortnite dance jingle, and here's the problem with the music becoming iconic - they keep adding new dance emotes, and new music. Nothing as fixed and timeless as the SMB theme, or the Zelda theme, or the Halo theme, which are linked intrinsically to their game and recognisably remixed throughout the series.

Minecraft music is like BOTW music. It's great and fitting for the game but it's not at the forefront of the experience. It's ambient, it comes and goes in quiet little interludes.

That Minecraft music is very nice to be fair.
