One of my local pubs was a nightmare a few weeks ago when the Joshua fight was on, never seen bit so busy on a Saturday night before. One one of my mates I was with who I know has zero interest in boxing basically started doing a tale of the tape based on nothing other than the two boxer's photos on the poster we were standing next to.

Same could be said of every big sporting event unfortunately.

For example, the World Cup. All of a sudden, everyone is an expert :fp:

To be honest that is an issue but I was more meaning that everyone thinks they're an expert in actually fighting. The amount of fights I've seen break out after big boxing matches is just retarded.

I still can't believe Jon Jones is allowed to fight again.

Instagram translate not doing a perfect job, but sounds like Khabib threatening to not fight in the UFC again if his team mate doesn't get unfired.

Is it the UFC that releases the fight money? I thought it was Nevada MMA regulator holding on to it until the investigation concludes.

That would make it the 3rd best PPV of all time behind Pacquiao vs Mayweather and McGregor vs Mayweather.

I think in 12 years Mayweather has done 24 million PPV whilst in 3 years Conor has done 13 million.

Whether he truly believes he can beat his opponent or not, those numbers explain why he trash talks before a fight.

Who cares, the guy is a (rich) scumbag. If he cares oh so much he can hire his brother.

Fightworld is new to Netflix. It's a documentary series that explores fighting methods and cultures around the world.

It's got an episode on the Israeli martial art Krav Maga which has always intrigued me.

There's a really good vice documentary on YT about the recent bare knuckle boxing event in the US which is trying to compete with mmc/boxing

Was trying to remember what that fight quest show was called that you'd posted up before, did really enjoy the episodes of it I saw.

Will check out Fightworld too. Have always had the same impression about krav maga, seems to place an ott amount of its legitimaticy on the fact Israeli secret services teach it.

The bare knuckle fighting did seem pretty scumbaggy admittedly, even with the organisers. On airport wifi otherwise would link to the YT vid but it is worth a watch. Seems much less technical than boxing, they just throw like crazy until one goes down since you don't have the big gloves to hide behind and protect yourself with.

Before signing up to evelen sport I asked them about their ufc rights because it says on their website they would be showing fight nights but nothing about the PPVs.

Their reply was they are unsure yet because bids are still going on, wonder if they will have the fight nights and someone else will end up with the PPVs, hopefully BT get to keep them but don't put them on their box office channel that they seem to be doing with every boxing match these days.

Imagine charging £60 a year for Fight Nights and not having any of the PPVs. :slol: :fp:

If someone does make UFC PPV an actual PPV rather than being part of BT Sports etc, it'll fail so hard.

Yeah it'll be a wash out, I couldn't imagine too many in the UK would be up for paying pretty much monthly for a UFC PPV.

I have BT which even puts up the cards on their website for replay and I still don't watch even 50% of ppvs. Trying to get PPV money out of the UK for stuff that starts at like 3am would only work for mcgregor cards

The UFC’s exposure here is going to fall off a cliff when the BT deal ends and putting numbered events on as PPVs will just make things worse.

Floyd Mayweather: Boxer responds to Khabib Nurmagomedov challenge with 'get the chequebook out!'

Boxer Floyd Mayweather could be open to a bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov after responding to the UFC fighter's challenge by saying: "Get the chequebook out!"

On Sunday the 30-year-old Russian called out American Mayweather, who is also undefeated, adding: "In the jungle there is only one king."

Mayweather would strawberry float Khabib up in a boxing match, wouldn't even be remotely close.
