UFC 258 main event fight is 100% worth watching!

Curtis Blaydes vs Derrick Lewis is the kind of heavyweight fight I like to see but the anger of watching a fight at 5am that lasts 2 minutes isn't something I want to risk so will watch it on Sunday morning at a sensible hour.

I'm skipping tonight's but hyped for 259, beast card.

For anyone who likes a war in boxing, don't miss Berchelt - Valdez in the early hours. Should be a strawberry floating cracker

Povetkin shouldn't have been anywhere near the ring last night.

Just watching this fight via YouTube and Povetkin seems slow and laboured. I wonder if he came into the fight too heavy? Whyte was so much quicker.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

He was hospitalised with COVID a few months ago mate, don't think he ever properly recovered. Wanted the big payday to retire on, which is fair enough.

Looking forward to the Frampton fight on Saturday (on C5!) although I suspect it won't be a classic. Will go the 12 I'd imagine.

Totally forgot UFC was having a fully sold out arena for the fight. The crowd noise really adds so much to the atmosphere.

UFC 261.

What are the strawberry floating odds of Chris Weidman breaking his shin bone clean in half in almost the exact same manner as Anderson Silva's shin break against Chris Weidman a decade ago?!

:dread:

Kamaru Usman is just insanely talented. He's got to be on course to beat Anderson Silva's win streak, only 2 fights to go to match the 16 wins in a row and no one looks good enough to challenge him.

That punch on Jorge was just so clean:

Delighted to see Thug Rose win too. :datass:

UFC 262 looks like an amazing card:

That was a good fight - I'm glad Masvidal lost, not a big fan. Beautiful punch to down him.

I don't even know which weight class they'll meet at, are they not about 30 pounds apart?

Tbh I'm fine with all the Jake Paul/YT boxing stuff. As a huge boxing fan it doesn't detract from my love of the sport - between now and the LP/Mayweather there are a few fights which will be incredible. Sadly they probably won't do the numbers the LP fight will but hopefully that will bring a few new folk into boxing. It could do with more fans.

They'll have separate weight limits apparently.

That's super weird. If LP manages to land a clean shot (he won't) and has been training hard (ditto) that could conceivably strawberry float Mayweather up - 30lbs and the fact FM is an old man could have made this interesting. 30lb difference is insane.

Obviously FM will dance round him for a points win but still. I'll watch it :shifty:

Paul will reportedly be permitted to weigh no more than 190lbs, standing at 6-foot-2. However Mayweather, four inches shorter, will be restricted to 168lbs.

Has this ever happened in boxing?

I think it's happened a few times in MMA but that it feels less likely in boxing.

There's definitely been a couple, none I've seen live though. Must be incredibly rare.
