PostGR Film of the Year - PM your lists
by Skippy » Wed Dec 28, 2011 11:05 am

I mentioned last week I'd do something like this and it was brought up in the film thread yesterday too so I thought I'd get on with it.

To keep it simple: PM me your ranked films of the year, any number of them between 3 and 10, and I'll award each points based on where they rank. 10 points for first, 9 for second etc etc.

I'll publish the results in here, either as a Top 10, 15 or 20 depending on what's feasible with the lists I receive. To keep this thread busy post your lists and maybe write a little something about your favourites if you want. To get things going I'll post my top 20, although they're not in order yet.

Are the only films released this year (though I think The Fighter was actually last year) that I've seen... :| :fp:

Just noticed I only watched two of my top five at the cinema in the past week. Not a bad end to the year.

Not really. Good story, fantastic performances, great cinematography, more like one of the treats of the year. I've seen a lot of sites say the same about Tree of Life, Drive, Hanna, The fighter, I Saw the Devil etc but I suppose it just comes down to personal taste.

Think it should be movies released in the UK in 2011, so this wouldn't count.

I'll allow it as it's a 2010 film and it's out there. It wont get far though as it hasn't been released here yet as you say

See, this just confuses me now because True Grit, Black Swan et al are 2010 films, even if they weren't out here until 2011. Hell, The Kings Speech came out here in 2010 and it still makes some people's lists.
I require order!
