See, this just confuses me now because True Grit, Black Swan et al are 2010 films, even if they weren't out here until 2011. Hell, The Kings Speech came out here in 2010 and it still makes some people's lists.
I require order!

If all of the films in our lists came out in a single specific region in 2011 I don't see the problem. Or are we banning people from outside the UK from entering?

My year in film:

1. Drive
2. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
3. The Tree of Life
4. Hugo
5. We Need to Talk About Kevin
6. Submarine
7. Source Code
8. Hanna
9. Kill List
10. 127 Hours

Senna>Tyrannosaur>Attack the Block>Rango>Super 8>The Guard>Rise of the Planet of the Apes>50/50>Bridesmaids>The Kings Speech>Martha Marcy May Marlene> The Inbetweeners Movie >Black Swan>The Devil’s Double>True Grit>Super>The Adventures of Tintin>The Ides of March>Midnight in Paris>Tucker & Dale Vs Evil>Like Crazy>Win Win>A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas>Warrior>Moneyball>Contagion>Friends with Benefits>Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows>Crazy, Stupid, Love>Cowboys and Aliens>Paul>Hobo With A Shotgun>Retreat>Limitless>Horrible Bosses>Barney’s Version> The Change-Up>Another Earth>Insidious>Fright Night>The Adjustment Bureau>X-Men: First Class>Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows- Part 2>Cedar Rapids>Terri>The Green Hornet>Thor>Hall Pass>Larry Crowne>The Beaver>The Art of Getting By>Captain America: The First Avenger>Our Idiot Brother>Melancholia>30 Minutes or Less>The Mechanic>No Strings Attached>Unknown>The Hangover Part 2>Bad Teacher>The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1>Pirates of The Carribean: On Stranger Tides>The Dilemma>In Time>Your Highness>Green Lantern

Saw most of them at a cinema, too 8-)

Not seen yet: Take Shelter, The Artist, The Muppets, Weekend, 13 Assassins, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, My Week With Marilyn, The Descendents, Love, The Rum Diary, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, The Debt, Red State, Rampart
and of those I can only imagine Take Shelter and The Artist breaking into my top ten.

New Years Resolution: Stop watching so many films. Especially the gooseberry fool ones :fp:

01. A Separation (Asghar Farhadi, IRI)
02. Poetry (Chang-dong Lee, KOR)
03. Animal Kingdom (David Michôd, AUS)
04. Drive (Nicolas Winding Refn, USA)
05. Incendies (Denis Villeneuve, CAN)
06. The Skin I Live In (Pedro Almodóvar, ESP)
07. Senna (Asif Kapadia, GBR)
08. Tree of Life (Terrence Malick, USA)
09. Black Swan (Darren Aronofsky, USA)
10. Submarine (Richard Ayoade, GBR)

Would have done a top 15 but according to my 'records' I haven't watched 15 films I'd rate highly enough to justify it (four 8s and nine 7s for 2011 leaves me just short). Having said that - and with them all written out like so - it was a strong year and I did miss out on a few films (Hugo being the main one).

I only watch fims on DVD/Bluray so I'm a bit crap at keeping track of which year they were originally released in.

I will make a list though.

I've seen
Source Code
Limitless
True Grit
The Adjustment Bureau
Captain America: The First Avenger
The Hangover Part 2

list in progress

The only film that means a damn thing. Admittedly my viewing has been extremely lean this year.

I've barely seen any films released this year. Which is odd, as I've watched literally hundreds of films.

Hanna
Thor
X-Men: First Class
Hugo
In Time
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. II
The Dilemma
Fast Five
Kung Fu Panda 2
Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Now, I don't want The Dilemma or Transformers anywhere near my top ten, so I'm currently getting hold of The Muppets, Drive and 127 Hours.

This isn't over yet, right?

What's the rules regarding films that did the round at film festivals in 2010 but didn't actually see theatrical release until 2011?

As I haven't really seen all that many films that came out this year, I'm going to leave it with a top 5:

1. The High Cost of Living (Deborah Chow)
2. Love (William Eubank)
3. Fast Five (Justin Lin)
4. The King's Speech (Tom Hooper)
5. Source Code (Duncan Jones)

Wondering if I should give Submarine another watch, as I thought it was a disappointment but it's made a few lists here...

This is still going on but it'll be longer before I can tally things up. My laptop died and at the moment I'm using my mum's every so often. I don't want to be hogging her laptop for ages tallying this up so I'll wait until my new laptop gets here next weekend. I'll be PMing people who posted lists but didn't PM them now.

Here's my final Top 10 btw

1. True Grit
2. Super 8
3. We Need To Talk About Kevin
4. The Tree of Life
5. Warrior
6. Submarine
7. Hugo
8. 50/50
9. Senna
10. The King's Speech
