PostGR Predicts - Ubisoft's Star Wars Collectibles
by OrangeRKN » Wed Jan 13, 2021 3:10 pm

Following the news of Ubisoft making a new Star Wars open world game, it's time for a fun forum competition! Ubisoft are well known for their formulaic open world games, and Star Wars is a well known and expansive franchise, so it's not difficult to imagine what elements the game will adapt.

The premise is easy - predict what the collectibles will be in the game. You can predict up to 5 kinds of collectible. As soon as the first collectible in the game is confirmed in future marketing the thread will be closed to new predictions. On release of the game, whoever correctly predicted the most collectibles will be declared the winner.

For comparison, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order by Respawn/EA featured (apparently) these 7 types of collectible:

- Cosmetic Chests
- Stim Canisters
- Force Echoes
- BD-1 Scans
- Secrets
- Terrarium Seeds
- Encrypted Logs

If you desire for the purposes of the thread "collectibles" can be interpreted loosely to include the kinds of repeated events that could have dedicated map markers, such as standing stones or fly agaric in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, or even the form the map marker towers will take. If you could tick it off a checklist, we can count it as a collectible! We won't count currencies, because everyone guessing the money as "credits" would be boring.

My predictions:

- Jedi Temples
- Hologram video recordings
- Imperial probes
- Carbonite bounties
- Death Star plan fragments (please  )

Good luck and...

One of them has to be some kind of Beskar armour, maybe integrated into an armour set if you’re not a Mandalorian, if the game has you playing as a Mandalorian then maybe a set looking like Boba Fett’s or Mando’s armour would fit nicely.

Now you've said it I can absolutely see armour upgrades similar to AC Valhalla progressing through Carbonite up to Beskar

You could pretty much reskin an assassin's creed game to star wars on visuals alone and it would work, so I can see it happening.

Only thing that could let this down is being far too big for its own good, if you’re able to jump between a lot of planets, anymore than a couple of regions (similar sized to one of Valhalla’s) on each planet could quickly become overkill. If it’s focused on one or two planets then obviously there’d be more stuff to explore on one planet.

Could be a side quest about breathing the Kessel run in a certain time too, if they let you free fly in space.

Are there multiples of each to collect, or have they been cut up into pieces?

Well you’ve got like 2 hands and 2 legs to find from Anakin on Mustafar alone.

Multiples of each. Like 3D models in different poses that you collect in a museum.

On that note:

Individual grains of sand - collecting 500k grains gets you the "It gets everywhere!" Achievement (users are reporting they have found all 500k grains but this achievement is not unlocking, so it's possibly bugged)

Reaching the highest point on the map pops the achievement "I have the high ground"

Patch notes - collection reset to fix the bug, after all everyone needs to feel how rough and coarse sand really is.

There will be one collectible in the game: Milk

This will come in a variety of colours and you will have to milk it from the various fauna that you encounter in the same way that you harvest skin and gooseberry fool like that from the animals in Far Cry
