Honestly, if it was just racing games you were streaming, I doubt you'd even need a face cam active. Anyone asks, just say you're the one providing the view of what they're watching. Same as if it were a real track day. Then again, if it were a real track day, you wouldn't be texting and driving at the same time anyway.

While I’ve got the wheel set up, I might do some more laps of the Ring, or maybe jump on ACC and do some laps of Bathurst.

Oh, I need to go back to the 'ring when I boot up AC in VR again. I should probably also start checking out more tracks on it. Think there's only about four I've ever drove on.

Got the "Ultimate Edition" of AC off CDkeys for about £4.50 or something.
Has all the DLC which is nice.

Probably going to give it a shot at the weekend. :D

Didn't even know it had a VR mode. Bonus!

I've played PCars 2 in VR. Both on my own set up, but using a pad and in one of those VR Sim Centres for my stag do. Full VR, forcefeedback setups. I've been chasing that dream ever since. If I was as into my racing as Mildew is I'd have something similar to him by now.

Plenty of cars and tracks to have some fun with in that version without going down the community mod route, enjoy!

The Ring is the best track on there though :shifty:

No idea how it plays in VR, I assume it’s fine?

AC runs beautifully in VR, and it's not that system demanding. Only issue is the UI is dogshit so you need a mouse and keyboard handy for it. Has some strange wraparound halo UI thing going on.

Great handling though, very rewarding and satisfying.

Yeah, it plays great in VR. A very enjoyable time.

It's never a good idea jumping from an F1 car in AC, into a GT3 car in ACC  Takes a few laps to get back into it!

Just had a go on AC and yeah I think it could be fun. Did a couple of laps round Monza then one round the Nordschleif (I have no idea if I spelt that correctly and I can't be arsed checking).
Started with the 911 Carerra and just couldn't control it at first. Moved over to one of the Nismos and had a much better time.

Though I think I'll hold off on really diving in. My wheel is pulling to the right and it makes doing anything other than managing that really hard. Been digging through the internet to see if there's anything I can do that I haven't already tried and nothing. Ah well. I can tolerate it for Euro Truck but not racing. I'll probably pick up a nicer wheel later in the year I think.

With more realistic racing games, youre better off in slower cars when youre starting out as you have way more time to learn correct technique. If you go to the faster stuff you'll just be all over the shop.

Yeah that's why I switched down to the nismo. Especially since I was trying to tune in the wheel as well. Was able to get it round the whole tourist course of the Nordschlief without crashing out, or spinning. Ran wide off a couple of times, but I was always able to slow it and control it enough to get it back on track, so I was happy with that. Especially getting the hang of the braking points as I went on so I was able to read that. If I hadn't been fighting the wheel the whole time I'd probably still be playing it.

Which GT2 car would you like to see me do a huge disservice, attempting to put a reasonable lap it at the A1 Ring?

I’ll see what I like best then

I do like the look of the KTM GT2 though, purely for the whacky door it has.

Forgot to say, I had a go in a Porsche on the nordschliefe in Forza Motorsport the other day.

It's so bad. As you said, curbs flattened all over the shop so you can take what should be bottoming out areas at full pelt. Car handles like total gooseberry fool, understeering constantly and then just snapping to oversteer right up until 4th gear. Absolute rubbish.

I really don't get how they've messed the handling up so badly on Forza, last Forza I played before this was Forza Motorsport 4 on the 360 and while I be misremembering, I recall that was a load of fun to drive, but this one is awful in comparison.

Been watching a little of that Le Mans Ultimate that came out in early access a couple of days ago, for an early access title it looks pretty good really. AI looks a little wonky though.

Got top a top 10 time on the nordschliefe gp track combo, so that'll do for now. Except because I didn't press a certain button to launch time trial while the course was in rotation, it doesnt officially count :simper:

I only found this out earlier as my time attack was showing 0/4 completed, yet I've set top 10 times in 2 of the courses. Really gooseberry fool it has to be done while the course is in rotation, rather than when the season is active

Played some more ps1 ridge racer via duckstation. Really has no business being that fun still, although theres a big wheel deadzone you can't get rid of as it's emulating the negcon and that itself had a horrible deadzone.

Not that I can speak from personal experience, but iRacing seems to make some really odd decisions with how users can fully enjoy their content, even more so with how much money users potentially need to fork out to be able to play consistently throughout the year. I know I've spent probably too much on ACC DLC, but at least I can access any of that when I want rather than having elements of it locked off, I guess they can kind of get away with it to a degree when its probably the best sim overall on PC.

Weirdly, the A1 Ring/GT2 pack isn't up on the Xbox store yet, presume it'll just appear at some point on Tuesday.
