PCARS 3 won't have pit stopsBy removing tyre wear and fuel usage, we could in turn remove pitstops, which resulted in much closer and more consistent racing. Thus, the whole process of getting to the part that matters most — the actual racing and driving of these amazing cars and their upgrades — became a far easier and more streamlined affair.
“All these game design decisions have had great results in terms of the racing — with the tires at their optimal range all the time and fuel at optimal load, there is no break in the action to stop for more fuel or new rubber. It’s pure racing action, and it’s just made Project CARS 3 into a much better racing-driver experience.

Definitely moving away form the Sim/sim-cade side of things then. I don’t see why they couldn’t just give the player the option of whether to have fuel/tyre wear on though?

I know I linked a Dirt 5 video preview before, but this one is a better showcase. Especially the third race. I don't think I've seen weather like that in a game before.

The dynamic weather and the lighting looks amazing in DiRT 5, rest of it doesn’t grab me really though.

I think I'm the same. It does look great, but anything else announced will more than likely pull me away from it. Microsoft revealed this in their May presentation. I get the feeling they'll undo any excitement for it in July.

They could very easily do that by having a trailer for Forza Motorsport 8, I'm in two minds whether they will announce it at the July event though? I certainly would love to see trailer at least though! They could be hyping up DiRT 5 as a viable alternative as a solid racing game to kick off the next generation of consoles with or they could just be giving it time to shine before they unveil FM 8. DiRT5 would already be a tough sell for me with F1 2020 coming out in July as that'll take up a chunk of my racing game time when I get it.

The only way I could see Motorsport 8 being a no-show is if they were bringing back an older series for a new generation. But that seems redundant with the Forza series, as what could those two offer that either Motorsport or Horizon doesn't?

I've got one of those multi-option vouchers to redeem, one of the options is MS currency to the tune of £50 so i am potentially interested in a new Motorsport as a casual track-racer, but i've found my interest in racing games trail off recently so it'll have to do something special to get me in.

Who's ready to see Test Drive Unlimited 3 get shown off for the first time next week?I'm curious to see what this new game will bring to the series. Especially since it's been so long since the last one and the series has switched hands since then.

The ultra-corporate and monetised new trackmania comes out today, I'm probably going to try it as its "free" but I expect to be saddened and disappointed.

RiMS Racing just got announced on Nacon Connect. No trailer, but it's a motorbike racing game that's targeted for a summer release next year.
And no trailer for Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown either, but we have it officially confirmed. The information given sounds interesting however, in how they're building an island at a 1:1 scale, and wanting to keep the familiarity of what made the TDU games what they are while modernising the series. It also seems this will also be a 2021 game, since they gave no date.

Anyone picking up project cars 3? The apparent arcade focus has put me off, but I'd be interested to hear opinions on it from here.

No plans on picking it up, dare say it’ll be ok to play but doesn’t really appeal to me, much like a DiRT 5. My next racing title to pick up will be Assetto Corsa Competizione, after that it’ll probably be WRC 9.

I can kind of see why they went full Forza/GT in their approach, especially as part of Codemasters now, who have F1 and Dirt Rally as their serious offering but nothing really in the simcade space after the failed necromancy of Grid (RIP in peace
) and when the no-fun-allowed sim racer audience is much smaller and already entrenched in iracing and rfactor.

The stupid thing is, if it was exactly the same game but called driveclub 2, id be blowing my load in my pants at the very thought of it. I'm part of the problem I suppose. It looks like it's got some driveclub style leaderboads which were my favourite part, but will it have the numbers to make it challenging? Not much satisfaction topping a world record if there's only a few hundred names on there.
