... already thinking that I should have got the G920 instead  :fp:
(Ad was right all along!)

TMX is great and works well, just feels a bit too plasticky.
And if I'm going to go whole hog and replace the Ironing board with a better cockpit, I'd rather the more solid wheel I think.

Just seen this for sale on Facebook Ad, I'm not quite there yet I think, but I thought of you when I saw it!

Seems a good price?

Thanks Lewis, yeah that's pretty good for that, although the lack of downshift click would annoy me.

Got my eyes on something else though :shifty:

Just met the criteria for C license, just have to wait until the season ends to be awarded it.

Been measuring up and I don't think I can fit a Playseat Challenge in the gap between my sofa and TV :(

Might have to go for something like a Next Level Wheel Stand Racer

Or leave the missus and get myself one bed flat and set up a racing man-pad :datass:

First options probably the better one

Eyeing up a full new setup Ad? Seem to recall you saying you fancy a Fanatec setup a while back, or am I remembering wrong?

Well if you're looking to move on the TMX at a reasonable amount then drop me a line.

I've got wheel stand pro, it's good and sturdy.

Yeah the g920 is very solid and the pedal set is a big step above what you get with other similarly priced wheels. I've used a wheel like yours before and those pedals are dreadful.

Most of my main gaming time is spent racing and I get thousands of hours out of my stuff, so anything I spend on it is well worth it. Possibly looking at a chair upgrade to a playseat trophy https://www.playseatstore.co.uk/playsea ... black.html although as that doesnt fold up, I then lose being able to move it between rooms, plus I can't put it away. Also looking at a new wheel and pedals at some point. Maybe when I get a new pc and upgraded VR set up.

Won’t be long before you will have one of those full motion set ups! Get the full experience of other drivers messing up your race in iRacing :datass:

That seat looks to have a good seating position though, not too dissimilar to the Challenge, at least you’d not have to worry about your pedal mount breaking again! A new seat would be a must as I doubt the Challenge could support a really high end wheel when you do upgrade in the future.

That looks really nice! Looks solid!

Does it have much adjustment in it though? I've only got short legs, so wouldn't want to have the wheel under my chin

Who am I kidding, it's far too permanent a solution to have in the room where I work, I may as well go full triple screen motion rig in the same space if I'm going to do that.

Unless I'm using the monitor for racing, I have the seat over in the corner as you don't need the monitor in VR, so it can be anywhere really. Having a heavier setup that I can't move and is always in the way would be a pain.

For what it’s worth if I had the space to have a dedicated, almost permanent setup then I definitely would do and I put nowhere near the hours into racing titles that you do, I’d probably also splash out when I could and get a Fanatec wheel as well

Had a bit of gooseberry fool one last night with the TMX.
Was P1 on Gilles-Villeneuve (great track  ) on F1 '21 and on the 4th lap the force feedback went dead, just disappeared completely and it was like driving on ice.

Thought maybe it was something in-game like I'd clipped the front wing just before turn 5 and not realised.
But it took pausing the race and unplugging the wheel and plugging it back in again to sort it.

Really I should have boxed and sorted the problem in the pits for dat full immersion :datass: (but I wanted to win the race lol)

..another tick in favour of the G920...

Sounds like a power issue rather than the wheel itself if it was still giving inputs. Check the power lead doessnt have a dodgy connection. It's amazing the difference a wheel has when the forces are cut.

Cheap wheels are a false economy IMO if you're going to use them for any decent length of time, as you'll soon wish you'd bought something better, then end up selling and moving on.

Also did my first ever F1 21 online multiplayer last night.

Only against two other players for some reason (was hoping for a full field). At the Red Bull Ring.

I qualified fastest, and in the race I got done on the first corner (slow reaction to the lights) and then the guy brake checked me on the next straight and done my front wings in. Lost all stability on the corners, ended up in the gravel but nursed the car to the pits, by this time he and the other guy are 35-40 seconds ahead and it's an easy win.

I'll stick to racing the AI

If you play with fuller starting grids it's honestly better to just start at the back.

With how some online lobbies are, wait for some of them to get half a lap ahead as well

It's a gooseberry fool show. I only played a handfull of online f1 races and it was pure kamikaze stuff. I found it better to get immidiately pull over to the side of the track when the lights go green and let most of the grid crash at the first corner.

I may have just bought a G920 off Currys ebay store for just under £200 :shifty:

Time to get the ironing board out. :toot:
