The sense of speed is a tricky one to accurately portray on a screen, likewise with modern F1 cars that while they’re immensely quick, when you watch them onboard they don’t actually look that quick if you compare it to some footage from before the mid 2000’s, the worse camera quality and the cars being lighter and more lively give a much better sense of speed than anything these days. Imagine it might be the same for games too.
I’ve finally got around to getting my wheel back out today, tried FH4 and F1 2021 but they just don’t seem to be doing it for me, F1 in particular just feels off on my wheel
So jumping back on Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione

The AI isn’t great in AC but it’s fantastic in ACC (well compared to the other games I’ve got on the Xbox anyway), whereas the variety of cars makes AC a much better time trial/hot lap game than ACC. Will load up WRC 9 and try and get a good stint on that too, got it for a matter of a few £ but not really given it a proper go yet, still was good from the little time I’ve had with it. It’ll never happen but I’d love for the developers of AC/ACC to get the F1 license, I think that’d be a cracking F1 game!
