Even though I downloaded Assetto Corsa with Game Pass I really wanted to drive the DLC cars, weirdly enough it works out £2 cheaper to just buy the ultimate edition rather than just buying the season pass.
I only wanted AC to lap the Nurburgring ring anyway
That Hot Wheels gameplay looks a bit slow from the trailer, but then the livestreamed showed a few clips that looked faster, so I guess there's different speed modes and only the slowest was used in the trailer. Looks fun, for sure.
Not tried it with my wheel but Assetto Corsa seems very good from my 20 or so minutes driving round the highlands in an Escort (a Ford before anyone gets any ideas!).

It's one of the best handling sims I'd say. There's something very forgiving about the handling which make it very satisfying to attack on every corner, whereas some other games seem to be gooseberry fool for anything other than driving at 90%.

It does seem very good, Competizione is good, but the variety of cars on offer in this appeals to me more really. Didn’t realise there was Imola and Mugello in AC too.
WRC 10 has just been announced, coming out 2nd of September 2021, later on Switch (which while I won’t be getting it for Switch, its still great they’re supporting the system!). I’ll probably leave getting WRC 9 and just get this near launch instead.
Love the idea of rally games, but I find them to be very focused to wheel users, something I can't fit in my man cave sadly! The main games I play are Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon as I find them quite controller friendly, what other racing games would you say are decent for controller use?
The current F1 games are very pad friendly if you enjoy F1 barring Monaco, also WRC 8 was very good on a pad on my Switch so I’d like to think they’ve not messed up the handling on a pad with WRC 9! I can’t recall the username but someone on here got WRC 9 on their PS5 and seemed very happy with how it controlled on the pad.
Amazing! Am I right in saying WRC 8 is on Gamepass? It was a couple months a go, might give it a go see how I feel and consider getting 10 when it releases!

Played plenty more F1 today, can definitely tell I’m getting used to it a lot more again as I’ve notched the ai back up to nearing 90, got my first win at Canada when I had it set to 85. Still lower it for the practice stuff though, the lap times they think you can get while saving fuel, tyres, ERS etc is daft on the higher difficulties. Austria up next, it’s after this race I might get a contract with another team, hoping for Red Bull considering I’m in the Alpha Tauri.
Edit, currently halfway through the British Grand Prix on F1 2020, put the AI up to 90 and qualified 3rd on the medium tyre (really don’t see the point in going straight for the soft, may as well try the medium and see how close you are to the front as it gives you the far better strategy, or at least it does for myself anyway!), just switched to the soft before watching the actual F1 this weekend. Probably far from realistic, but it feels immense to play, probably one of the best racing games I’ve played, the AI is really good too for the most part.
Anyone from the UK wanting WRC 9 (I know you've been considering it Robbo), well an interesting error has got it down to £7.99. But now a 60% discount has been applied, bringing it to less than £4. No idea when such will be corrected, but jump on the chance now.
