Lol

I doubt there'll be any additional single player content, let alone meaty. There's been 7 years to add single player content and they haven't done it. There were apparently some plans for it, then the online turned into a money printer and any plans to add single player content were abandoned in favour of just adding stuff to the online.

Wait seriously? Has any other game been remastered onto a third console generation before?

Capcom probably have, let's face it.

Street Fighter II originally appeared in the Shogunate as a pens and paper game. It's thought that the final version of it will be released seconds before the expanding Sun swallows the Earth.

In all seriousness, I count 6 console generations which had a release of Street Fighter II. From the Master System to the PS4. Hell, even the Spectrum and C64 had versions.

I'm pretty sure they'll charge people for the full price on PS5. Why else would they be giving PS4 players a million a month until it releases? The Series X will probably get the upgrades via a patch, and depending on how significant the upgrades are, the PC version will see them come for free anyway.

I've enjoyed everything I've played with it across these last five years, which has mostly been races or just messing around when it comes to Online. Only recently had I started on the businesses, and I think I'm pretty near to not continuing with them. Doing the buy and sell missions with a load of idiots on mechanical broomsticks hunting you down is not exactly fun, and swapping out lobbies to find an empty (or near empty) one is kind of defeating the point of the missions being within the freeroam. Even using Test NAT Type to force a solo lobby goes against that (though I will do so whenever I sell things. I've waited a million hours to build all this stock up. I am not having it all undone in seconds by said idiots on mechanic broomsticks).

My understanding from the videos last night was that GTA Online will be free for all on PS5. I expect an enhanced version of GTA V will also be sold, though personally I wouldn't play through the story again enhanced or not. Not that it's bad, it's just GTA Online was always more exciting than the single player for me. It makes sense to make GTA Online free to play too, those Shark cards are very expensive and by the sound of things, they sell them by the truck load.

Rockstar are always giving away GTA dollars to keep people engaged in the game! A million a month would probably be a drop down from what they've been giving away recently. It sounds like a lot, but I've spent over $200 million in the game (all earned) and whilst I've got a lot of fun toys on the game, there's still things that I'm keen to pick up and the bar will continue to be raised so that the stuff that dominates now does not by the time PS5 comes around.

Have to say it’s very strange to open the stream with that.

Rockstar? Ohh? RDR remake? No it’s strawberry floating GTAV.

You know what I think my head would snap of my neck if that’s the case. Literally create something new ffs :?

I was pissed off seeing this open yesterday. But in hindsight does it mean actually that GTA 6 (which is what 5 years away?) won’t actually contain an online version? And the online game will just be free like COD Warzone or the current one upgraded?

I've been collecting what I can of that free money, but the fact that so much of what's coming is now going to be platform specific (unless Rockstar still plan on giving to the others) is what's making me think that.

I wonder if Rockstar have anything planned for GTA3's 20th anniversary next year. I'd love to see a full remake, with an expanded rendition of GTA3's Liberty City, and Darkel's missions reinstated.

Or they could make a GTA set in a different country.

Maybe let a woman write the story so it's not all about male posturing, that would be nice.

This. So much this.

In RDR2 there's a mission where Sadie is killing loads of bad dudes and is clearly capable of looking after herself. The mission objective? "Protect Sadie"

If it had been a male character, such as John, there's no way the objective would have been written that way. "Follow" would've been used instead.

There's a bigger issue here than this one line of text but I thought it highlighted the problem perfectly when I was playing the game.

I loved GTA V when it came out many years ago but Rockstar really need to reinvent themselves and modernise.

Well, one of the Housers had left rockstar so maybe that's the start of a creative shift?

One can hope.

Though part of GTA's identity is "lol just kidding bro" so they never have to address real emotions or real world problems.

But at the same time they want you be wowed by them copying old action and gangster movies.

GTAs tone is incredibly inconsistent when you think about it.

At least saints row makes it clear they're in a cartoon world.

Loading screeens on the PS4 pretty kuch confirm - GTA Online is going free to play. GTA V enhanced again will also be released.

The first mission you do in the game is "protect Dutch".

For anyone who cares about the Online still, there's a community challenge relating to heists in preparation for the next evolution of them.

100 Billion earned on heist finales within a week for everyone to earn a special new vehicle for free. Everyone signing in this week also gets a million added to their account.

This is the most generous they've been with this stuff as of late, and it's been an age since I've done any heists. I definitely don't want to be doing any of the later ones, though, so I'll see if I can join any from one group or another. Unless people on the Xbox version here fancy teaming up for some action.
