Been playing online all day today on Xbox One, it's well good. Bit confusing when trying to play with my mate, and there's lot of dicks as usual but still enjoyed it enough. Got my own apartment too :D

Does anyone ever play this on here?
Lot of dick heads around, had one person put music down his mic than message tones on repeat for about 1hr

Loads of what sounds like little kids swearing their heads off! Probably worse than Halo

Yes you can. The character online will transfer into PS4 and I do play it sometimes.

Just go into passive mode dude. They get bored and leave after about 5 minutes.

Free mode events list released:

Become the Beast
a stronger, faster (and hairier) version of your character - and flee relentless pursuers all over Los Santos and Blaine County.

King of the Castle
An every man for himself turf war where you’ll need to ascend and claim the designated ‘castle’ as your territory – and then fend off everyone else as they go all out to dethrone you.

Hot Property
Grab the briefcase and go! Jump into a car, bike, boat, motorcycle, P-996 Lazer or just run for the hills with the coveted contraband in hand. Be one of the three players who hold the briefcase the longest to score GTA$ and RP bonuses.

Moving Target
The first player to enter a marked vehicle will become the Moving Target, tasked with safely delivering the vehicle to a designated location. While the marked vehicles will be durable, it’ll take some serious elusive finesse to survive other players’ attempts to destroy you before the drop point.

Checkpoint Challenge
Compete with all your Freemode competitors in a mad dash across southern San Andreas. Who will be the first to race or fly through all the designated checkpoints for fame, fortune and reputation?

Kill List and Kill List Competitive
Take control of some of heavy artillery and duke it out with the mercenaries from Merryweather Security. Rack up GTA$ and RP for each kill.

Dead Drop
Fight for possession of valuable contraband and see if you can make the drop first in this ruthless smuggler’s run.

Penned In
When you see the enormous dome appear over the Los Santos skyline, jump into the closest ride and find your way into it before the timer starts. Then, stay within the dome as it begins to move and shrink, smashing and bashing rivals out. Those who are left out of the dome for more than 7 seconds will explode. See if you can be the sole survivor at the very end.

Criminal Damage
Whet your appetite for destruction with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Get strapped with a favorite piece of heavy artillery and let loose over a given time period with no wanted level in sight. Wanton destruction is rewarded with every bullet hole and blast. The player with the largest property damage bill who causes the most destruction will win.

Hold the Wheel
A Sanchez, a Golf Cart or another otherwise humble mode of transport is made into an indestructible marked vehicle. Take command of it and avoid all the other jackers and assailants in your session to be the one behind the driver’s seat when time runs out. Try and go for it solo to keep the entire GTA$ award for yourself, or shrewdly partner up with a gunner to ride with you for protection and split the earnings.

Time Trial
Record the fastest time possible, with a new course to master every week that awards you GTA$ and RP for beating our target time or your own personal best - and a championship worthy haul if you can take down the World Record.

Freemode Challenges
Compete in 19 unique Challenges against your Freemode friends and foes. See who can perform the longest jump, who can drive the farthest without crashing, who can fall the longest distance without dying, who can freefall the farthest before pulling their ‘chute – and many other ways to risk your neck to try and be a top 3 finisher for GTA$ and RP rewards.

TWO NEW ADVERSARY MODES

The Freemode Events Update also includes two all-new exciting Adversary Modes:

Cross the Line: Heavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone – with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory.

Hunting Pack: You’re part of a team tasked to deliver a priority vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a minimum speed, while your opponents race, ram and batter to take it down.

ROCKSTAR EDITOR NOW AVAILABLE FOR PS4 & XBOX ONE
The Freemode Events Update includes the launch of the Rockstar Editor on the PS4 and Xbox One - with several new features that have been added to it for all platforms - including an ambient audio and sound effects library, Snapmatic integration, Director Mode updates, and new fonts.

CREATOR UPDATES
Today's update also brings new features to the GTA Online Creator, which includes the ability to properly stack and overlap Props, as well as the ability to save Prop templates that can be reused throughout custom Job creation. Now, clever Creators can make insane mega ramps, super loops, and brilliant parkour courses better than ever.

PLUS LIMITED-TIME GTA$ BONUS AND EXCLUSIVE T-SHIRT UNLOCK
Complete any 5 of these brand new GTA Online Freemode Events between Tuesday, September 15th and Sunday, September 20th to get GTA$50,000 bonus in-game cash plus an exclusive Vapid t-shirt (awarded by Friday, September 25th). And look for more details on more GTA Online bonuses to be announced in the upcoming Freemode Events Social Club Weekend later this week here at the Newswire.

Some mad banana split 13 year old made a PowerPoint presentation to convince his parents to buy him GTA 5. I started out intending to write a story about it, but that quickly turned into a 800-word analysis of his presentation prowess.

I realise this story may definitely be fake

Rumour that SP DLC has been ditched for (GTA: O?) map expansions and free roam mode... stuff.

Rumour was posted in August. Guy apparently predicted other stuff ages ago which supposedly got incorporated into GTA:O.

Saucy enough for ya lol!

Major Updates to come before announcement of Map expansion!
In no particular order

Biker DLC:
(Bikes, clothes, free roam missions)
*purchase clubhouse to activate biker free roam missions

Law and order DLC
(Police free roam and vehicles)
*Purchase police vehicles to activate free roam police missions

The Luxury Living DLC
(Mansions & Pets)
*Purchase Mansion to *purchase exotic pets (Mansion grounds only)

The Blaine County and Paleto DLC
(Animals in free roam)
Animals online syncing workaround via VIP mission type activation

*Purchase hunting license and equipment to activate hunting objectives
*Purchase New warehouses and properties

North Yankton and Liberty City (Online Map expansion)
$£ Paid DLC 1 2017 sept
*Not Yet Complete

San Fierro and Las ventures
(Online Map expansion)
$£ Paid DLC 2 2018 oct
*Not Yet Complete

Vice City.... Not until GTA VI, some time around 2020 At the VERY earliest!

San Fierro and Las Ventures were built alongside Los santos way back in the early development stages of GTAV, Scrapped on PS3/Xbox for obvious reasons!!
After more then 3 years of re building for PS4/XBO/PC,
Both are still being worked on with a release target of October 2018!

Single player DLC has been replaced with Online Map expansion model!
Mainly due to the unforeseen success of micro transactions and GTA online in general!

Liberty City will be released September 2017..
The DLC will included

A Open ticket (for city slickers) to Liberty City!

A Open ticket (for Snow Blowers) to North Yankton!

EXCLUSIVE VIP Membership (for High rollers) which grants Exclusive access to THE CASINO in Los Santos!

Pre Order Bonus of 1 million GTA Casino chips for pre order!!

Micro transactions can NOT buy GTA CASINO CHIPS!

Liberty City, North Yankton and the Los Santos Casino scheduled together to keep player migration relatively balanced!!

Liberty City will enable you to trade on the stock market, once a Office has been *Purchased! Similar to the current crate set up!

Both DLC's will be priced equivalent to a full game!!

I've posted on this forum twice!
(Not including this post)
one was BEFORE the release of GTAV back in 2013 (Check back and have a careful read, compare it to what we have today) and one post was yesterday (2016)

Most if not everything mentioned in that 2013 post has been implemented or reworked into the current GTA Online we have today, from the old mission set up format, to individual heist roles, to the current free mode events!

With the Next four Updates to come, GTA Online will have utilised most if not all the work that went into GTAV such as animals, police vehicles, Stock Market, Blaine County etc..
Can't say much more, there on to me..... Speculating can get you in to a lot trouble.. lol

Keep Speculating and Keep up the great work GTA FORUM!
You guys Rock!! *

Damn, that's a shame. I've never really gotten on with GTA Online, so it's unfortunate that's becoming Rockstar's focus rather than the single player, especially if the expanded maps are just going to be for online, too.

The post was made back in August, so it's not even a new rumour. Some think there's a modicum of truth to it (biker dlc) mixed with author's wish list of things he'd like to see. Here's hoping, eh.

Never played much of GTO:O. If I was being cruel I'd liken it to being a chav gangsta wannabe's Second Life. That actually looks kind of fun to play.

With both GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar made excellent, dedicated single-player campaign-style expansions in Episodes from Liberty City and Undead Nightmare. Grand Theft Auto Online has integrated narrative elements to setting up criminal enterprises, but most of the tales generated from GTAO are more emergent in nature. Was it a tough call to move away from more scripted experiences or do you view this as a natural evolution of open-world design toward giving players more agency over their play experience?

No, it was not really a conscious decision, it’s just what happened. We would love to do more single-player add-ons for games in the future. As a company we love single-player more than anything, and believe in it absolutely – for storytelling and a sense of immersion in a world, multiplayer games don’t rival single-player games. With GTA V, the single-player game was absolutely massive and very, very complete. It was three games in one. The next-gen versions took a year of everyone’s time to get right, then the online component had a lot of potential, but to come close to realizing that potential also sucked up a lot of resources. And then there are other games – in particular Red Dead Redemption II. The combination of these three factors means for this game, we did not feel single-player expansions were either possible or necessary, but we may well do them for future projects. At Rockstar, we will always have bandwidth issues because we are perfectionists and to make huge complex games takes a lot of time and resources. Not everything is always possible, but we still love single-player open-world games more than anything. I don’t think you could make a game like GTA V if you did not like single-player games and trying to expand their possibilities!

Much more here: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/ ... nline.aspx

So the fault lies with the remaster, V being 3 games in 1 and other games. Nothing at all to do with the crazy money they're raking in with GTAO. Nope.

pushsquare.com wrote:We already know that Rockstar's mega-hit crime-'em-up, Grand Theft Auto V, is the best selling game of all time, but a new report from MarketWatch reveals that it's comfortably the most profitable game ever. In fact, it's made more cash than any film, album, or other entertainment product in history.

Across all platforms, GTA V's 90 million sales has made more than $6 billion for Take-Two, which easily exceeds the best selling movies...

Click for source.

It's such a money-making machine that I wonder if there will be any further numbered iterations in the series? I could see "Grand Theft Auto Online" being the endlessly-updated format for the product.

To echo what someone in the Resetera thread was saying, if they're making that much money from GTA V, they can certainly afford to take a tiny portion of it and make a Single Player mode. They'll still make more money than God and they'll have something for everyone.
