It's a really small thing, but I really prefer the more exact post time and dates that we have. Is it possible to change that?

If you mouse over the 1hr ago thing it tells you the precise time.

Good to know. :D

If you’re using a mouse.

The last post time in a discussion should be underneath the discussion title. You can then mouse over to get the exact time if needed, see this example from the most loved subcommunity thread on GR:

Thanks for the update, Winckle. That "mouse hover" time feature sounds neat, albeit I'm accessing GR via my tablet 90% of the time. But, hey, s'all good :-).

No polls?!? Strawb Flarum!

But I guess I'll live with it.

It looks like there is an extension we could install to add polls, complete with a helper script to port old polls from PhpBB3.

I just tried this and the helper script ballsed up the polls extension to the point where I can't even remove it to start again.

Well this is why we test these things!

Jawa asks: Have I already ruined the new forum?

Technically there's plenty of poll websites like strawpoll we could use that if anything are probably better featured than any forum poll option!

Going to be brutally honest here, I utterly hate it, the layout, colour scheme and lack of pages are all massive stumbling blocks for me.

I have to agree. Plus no polls, signatures, time of each post etc.

I get that this forum is crumbling and the new one will run better. But from a user point of view, we seem to be losing way too many features.

Being able to post images etc without tags is nice. But I don't think it makes up for what we are losing.

It's a damn shame phpbb couldn't have just modernised their own forum software a bit, fixed the back-end database stuff, etc, over the years.

From a front-end, user perspective it's still a lovely forum software to interact with on a daily basis. Everything just fits together as it should.

So, has the decision basically been made already? Or are we still in the "let's set it up first and see what we all think" stage?

Can't stand the thought of having to scroll through 1000+ post threads and that strawberry floating 'load more' button boils my piss already.

Threads should load straight into where you last were in them or into the newest post since you last read. You can use the scrubbing tool on the right hand side to quickly move through the history of a thread much more quickly and with more granularity than the current page option allows

No one noticed that I added in signatures then. And again, time of post is in there. You just click or tap the X hours ago should you have a burning need to know the exact time a post was made.

Polls I will get in. I screwed up trying to migrate our old poll data in and broke the polls extension.

Should

I just don't get how it is preferable to pages. Each to their own, but I've always found pageless forums a huge pain in the arse to navigate.

I've just been on there and haven't seen any signatures. It's great if they have been added.

Having to click on "a day ago" to see a post time is annoying.
