I'm not sure you screwed it up(!) -- I think there is actually a version mismatch between the PhpBB helper script and the current version of the extension.

I have to agree. Plus no polls, signatures, time of each post etc.

I get that this forum is crumbling and the new one will run better. But from a user point of view, we seem to be losing way too many features.

Being able to post images etc without tags is nice. But I don't think it makes up for what we are losing.

No one noticed that I added in signatures then. And again, time of post is in there. You just click or tap the X hours ago should you have a burning need to know the exact time a post was made.

Polls I will get in. I screwed up trying to migrate our old poll data in and broke the polls extension.

I noticed that you had a signature, but I can't see any way to configure it for my own account?

Go to your own profile and it's an option there.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Maybe I just missed it but when I looked earlier I could have sworn it wasn't there!

It supports the colour blocks from connections. :toot:

I like it and I, for one, welcome our new Winckle Flarum overlords.

Thank you for all the hard work, Winckle and co.

Can we at least have pages as an option? I find it much easier to cope with a few posts at a time rather than a long list.

I like having pages but can get used to the new system. However, when I re-enter threads that I haven't finished reading, it jumps by at least 4 posts.

+1 for pages.

I hate how everything is a neverending doom scroll now, and I'm making a habit of getting rid of apps with infinite scrolling pages.

To be fair, it's not an algorithmically generated neverending doom scroll, like Facebook or Twitter -- it's a finite log of a conversation that you can scroll up and down, like Discord or WhatsApp.

At least until the AI bots get in there, then we're done for.

Is there something that can be done about the general lack of differentiation between posts?

I mean, it's just one huge block of colour with lines of text appearing. On here you get subtle background colour changes for each post, clearer/thicker lines inbetween, etc. I think the new test forum looks too minimalist at the moment.

Also, the signatures I've seen are offputting since they're just other lines of text sitting just below the other text.

Absolutely we can add styles to that effect.

If you'd like to simulate pagination, simply refresh your browser every twenty posts.

Thanks to Dan for pointing out I hadn't decloaked the archive on the test site. Should be viewable to logged in members now.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
