So it's that time again and E3 is now just around the corner!
Following on from last year and the fantastic reception that the Post-Mortems received I really wanted to step things up a bit this year. We've developed a lot since then with the revival of the GRcade Podcast and the birth of GRview, so I really wanted to do something that encompassed all of the various forms that GRcade takes now.
With that in mind I just want to give you guys a heads up on some of the things that we'll be doing this time around.
Post-MortemsAs you may have anticipated I will be doing the Conference Post-Mortems once more and I'll be looking for volunteers to take part in the seven in-depth discussions that we will be having. More information on this will be forthcoming in the next week or so once all the conference times are confirmed and I've put together a basic timetable. At that point I will start accepting names for participation in the shows!
GRviewErrkal is adding an E3 Hub to the GRview page. What we're looking at is for you, yes you, to give us your thoughts on ANY aspect of E3. It could be a look back at previous years, it could be a write up on something that's just been announced. Whatever YOU want to do. There is no barrier to entry here. You don't have to be a great writer, as long as you can string something legible together it'll get posted (We let Pedz do it after all
). Unlike the Post-Mortems or Podcast there is absolutely no technical requirement. All you need is the ability to write and send words. If you can do that, you can contribute.
This hub will also serve as a general starting point for each of the main conferences, with links to the livestreams, post-mortems and forum threads for each.
Take a look at the hub here:
http://grview.grcade.co.uk/e3-2017/ It's a bit bare at the moment, but we'll should start seeing content filling it out as we get closer to E3 itself.
If you want to submit content for GRview, Errkal has put together this handy guide:
http://grview.grcade.co.uk/wp-content/u ... View-1.pdfPodcastI'm waiting to hear back from Karl and Cuttooth about what our plans for the Podcast will be. We're going to try and avoid overlap with the Post-Mortems so it'll probably be more general coverage rather than the company specific discussion I'll be chairing. Suffice to say Karl will no doubt bring his excellent hosting skills in at least one E3-tastic Podcast. Again, more information on participation to come as and when we have it to share.
LIVE CoverageOne of the things I loved about E3 week, was when Gametrailers streamed non-stop coverage. It was something to watch and annoying presenters aside, really made it feel like an event. So in that spirit I'm planning to stream each conference with some LIVE chat and reactions on the GRcade Twitch channel. I'll be looking for a couple of people to take part with me and we'll hopefully be able to carry it off. Obviously we're not talking constant rolling coverage, but 15-20 minutes either side to go over expectations and then immediate reactions before we go offline for the in-depth Post-Mortems. This is most definitely an experiment though, so it'll be interesting to see if it works and if we can pull it off.
So there you have it. This is what you have to look forward to during E3 2017. Whether you follow the live stream, watch the post-mortems, listen to the podcast or write something for GRview this is YOUR E3 and we need YOU to take part.

Thread
Can anyone who has started a conference thread, or will start a thread please get in touch so I can update this list and co-ordinate with you on other E3 matters. So yeah, this thread should be used to discuss our coverage in general. It's where we'll post updates on all the plans we have in place and update you on their progress. Then once it's all underway it's where you can tear us to bits and tell us what sucked.
