Best graphics - Illusion Island (Mickey mouse game). Very nice cartoony visuals, the world was just really pleasing and happy to look at. Cut scenes we're cartoon level. It's a shame the gameplay was so zoomed out but each of the characters (though they played exactly the same) had lovely little personalised expressive animations.
Best sound- Zelda totk I suppose
Best multiplayer - Blanc. Not a great game, but a great experience for me. Get to play so few co-op multiplayer and played this with my girlfriend, nice not too easy but not to hard for a non gamer. Just a pleasant experience.
Best indie game - Highland Song
Best console/system - Switch. Absolutely crushed it this year
Most anticipated game for 2024 - at the moment that Paper Mario followed by Mario Vs Donkey Kong (just because I'm into but not sure how the peach game is going to turn out). Not a lot that really excited me at the moment for 2024 but I would have said that about 2023 this time last year and 2023 turned out to be massive
Biggest Disappointment of the year - DC Justice League Cosmic Chaos. Not a bad game and certainly better than the Gotham Knights (but we can all say that about ourselves), but I think this is for kids (and not for Kids but adults might like it). There are a couple of good hours in here, I like that the combat levels are broke up by a mini open sandbox you get to fly around in but the gameplay got very samey and repetitive and got bored with it and didn't finish (I'd it's target audiences of children would also go through similar motions). The big positive, I don't think this is based off a cartoon or anything, but they could make a cartoon out of this style - very cool vibe and humour they created here and liked what they did with the characters repackaging them as funny and kid friendly. Opening cut scenes felt like it could have been straight from a cartoon
2023 GRcade Game of the Year -Zelda TotK obviously. Single biggest gaming event for me since I self identified as a gamer end of 2019. Fantastic experience and very fun worth the price of entry for the skydiving/ gliding alone.

Honourable mention to Chase Horizon 2. As well as Mario Wonder and Sonic Superstars (haven't played Mario and Sonic but will be playing over Christmas, I'll be away in Thailand
and might not post before vote closes but confident I'll really like both games)
I hadn't heard of this but want to try it. I generally like games which include scaling mountains so this looks a good fit

What's an indie game anyway? Jusant is self-published and has the vibes, so I've gone with it.

I’d forgotten Redfall was this year 
Wasn’t as much of a disappointment for me as Forza, but at the same time I’d not built it up anywhere near as much in my head.

Best graphics - Cyberpunk 2077 (The 2.0 update with RT is utterly gorgeous)
Best sound - Rise of the Triad - Ludicrous Edition (The OST for ROTT is legit one of the best in all of gaming. Absolutely love it
)
Best multiplayer - Quake II Remastered (It's sooooooo good)
Best indie game - Turbo Overkill

I am presently dehydrated, sun stroked parallel to a rice field 20 miles from my destination on a bicycle with a slow puncture using my last bit of data to change my vote to Mario Wonder!
Mario Wonder is that blissful of a gaming experience
