That's a good point actually. When I had it I just really used it for Resi 6, Sea of Thieves and PUBG. Other than those I wasn't really bothered. Handy if you're bothered about exclusives and timed exclusives though.

That's no reflection on the S XSBoxS Series S (S), but as I'm primarily a PC gamer and a lot of the Exclusive stuff is already catered on their failing PC Game pass service (Sad)

Lent my PS4 to my nephew about a year ago and that aint ever coming back, so have missed out on a number of games this gen that would like to play with upgraded visuals.

It's a bit of a shame as I have always really liked the Xbox brand, and think MS's efforts in the console market have been stellar, but can't currently warrant spending £££ for a machine when I can play most of the new games on my PC.

Will pick one up at some point just for the Backwards compatibiltiy function.

Alternatively, I may just break the first time I see one in store and then try and hide it from the missus.

A Safe bet

If I had a capable PC I wouldn't get a Series X either. I do think Series X MAY be my last console as I think ill move towards getting a beast PC in a few years.

Before i got my PS4 i was pretty darn close to getting an Xbox, so, have no brand loyalty (outside of Nintendo!) as such. It was just that the PS4 had more games that appealed to me. I can foresee a similar situation with the PS5. At the end of the day it'll be the games i'll be swayed by and theres not a lot that currently piques my interest on Xbox. Gamepass does sound great though.

I have enough on my PS4 to keep me busy for the foreseeable future anyways, so, it'll be at least a year before i decide. The dust will have settled by then, and, of course, i could be swayed / have changed my mind.

My tv upgrade will be taking priority over all this!

I won't be jumping on board with either, at least not to begin with. Opening my launch day PS4, and the 2.5 years that followed, especially with DriveClub and Destiny, are some of my fondest gaming memories. So there's a huge part of me wants to recreate that, but I can't justify the outlay, certainly not in the current climate, and we have another baby on the way in October. In addition, since our first kid was born in 2016, my gaming habits have changed massively. My Switch is currently my main console and the PS4 is now something I use mainly to play the occasional game of PES on.

I totally get that. On one hand I've played games that I otherwise might not have but I get that Netflix thing of spending more time looking at what I could be playing than actually playing.

No poll? It's PS5 for me. Technically there isn't going to be much between the consoles so I'll go with the exclusives.
I've only ever owned an Xbox 360 in addition to my Sony console because it was a good deal but I hardly played it so it lasted below the tv for a few months before I sold it. I've owned every Sony machine(not every incarnation of the console,just 1 to 4 and the Vita) apart from the PSP.
I haven't owned a Nintendo since the Wii and 3DS, purely down to financial constraints(I had to sell my limited edition Zelda 3DS which really sucked).

I am really torn and really have no idea which one I'll be getting. It'll be a year or so before I take the plunge, anyway, so I've got time to see how things settle.

Neither at launch although I think Xbox S is the one to buy atm just for that cheap cheap price.

I'm getting both disk based variants as I've been waiting for the next gen for years now.

Really haven't seen anything from Sony or MS that makes me interested in the new consoles yet. Where are the new games, and the big launch titles?
PS5 has a couple of mildly interesting titles I guess, and I've seen nothing for the Xbox that looks new, good, or that I can't play elsewhere.

I might pick up a PS5 in a few years' time, depending on what kind of exclusives come out. Still quite like the look of it, even if it is a bit router-esque. Better than another chunk of boring black plastic.

Not getting either at launch but likely to get both at some point. However, leaning towards the X first at present with the digital PS5 after.

Nothing interesting me for launch on either and I have a mountain of stuff to play (8tb of stuff installed on my PS4 :lol:

All of this. Digital PS5 is a great price, but the best use case for it is to play PS4 games without it sounding so loud (hopefully) like it does on my base PS4 and PS4 pro. Even i think that's extavagant.

PS5 day 1 for Demon's Souls and Miles Morales, plus I'll have God of War and Resident Evil 7 to play on the Plus library thing (handy because I almost bought them the other week in the PSN sale)

Wonder if the PSPlus Collection thing means those of us staying on PS4 and have PSPlus will also get access?

Because it's an upgrade incentive.

I'll be trying to get a Series X at launch as well as a PS5, but if I don't I'll just wait until my Birthday in March for it.

As always my decision will be tailored towards whether or not I can get my Rock Band DLC on a new console as I've got a grand's worth and I'm not for losing it. So with that in mind it'll need to be a Series X.
