Plus we run into the problem of everybody being out of sync with the actual conference. So you end up with some people being ahead of others and it ends up being a confusing mess with reveals being ruined. So just pre and post show commentary.

I'm not sure I get it -- wouldn't anyone watching our commentary be watching the conference kind of 'via' us, so how would we be out of sync? They'd get our reactions and what we reacted to at the same time, no? I don't actually really understand how Twitch works, so please tell me if I'm just wrong. :P (I understand you've thought about it and decided, that's totally fair enough, just interested in understanding more about what the problem would be. :) )

I think the people taking part would be out of sync when they are watching it, so say it's Devlin and you, you'r stream may be ahead of Devlin's.

When streaming there is a delay between when something happens on my end to when it appears for a viewer. For example when you type something in chat that appears on our streams you'll notice that it takes some time for what you've typed to appear on the actual stream. If the participants of the live show were to watch the stream that I'm putting out then they would be constantly behind. That's why they should watch the official streams for these conferences instead of our restream.

In addition there's no way to sync up the conference streams so that we see things at exactly the same moment. For example I remember watching one of the Nintendo Directs with some of the others on mumble. While we were all watching the same stream, mine was a good ten-thirty seconds behind them. So I'd hear people talking about stuff that I'd not seen yet. It makes for a disconnected experience and doesn't sound good.

Hopefully that makes sense.

It does indeed, what it a few watch and record then the responses get cut into a video about it to be on YouTube after. Sort of GR E3 Gogglebox.

Ok so I've updated the OP with the line-up so far.

We've less than a week to go till we kick this off and to be honest, unless I start getting more sign-ups I may not have enough people to go ahead with this.

So please if anyone is interested in taking part in either the live show or the post-mortem discussions can you let me know in the thread as soon as possible. Cheers guys.

I'm sorry man, I'd maybe volunteer for more but Nintendo is the only conference I'll be really 'into', y'know? Seems pointless having someone that knows nothing about PlayStations sitting through the Sony conference, like.

That's fine man. I'm not wanting to make people do shows they're not interested in.

Though if I don't see an increase in participants in the next day or two I'm probably going to have to cancel the whole thing. There's no point if I can't get the numbers I need.

I could probably do EA, however I would be ambivalent towards everything except Need for Speed, which I would criticise and complain about nonstop.

I'll be excitedly watching Ubi and Sony conferences too, but the post-mortem times are during work hours.

If it's a time thing that's keeping people away then I can try to re-schedule some things, that's not an issue.

I think that's the main limitation for people, and for us being on this side of the pond in general. I'd gladly do a delayed Microsoft discussion on wednesday and a Ubisoft one on Thursday, at say 8pm, however would that be too far after the fact?

I'd take part in more if the timings were changed. I usually go to sleep at 11 and wake up at 5 for work which is why I've only put myself up for the EA one. I'd love to have taken part in the Nintendo one but I get home at 7/8 and I can't be sure that I'd have a good enough connection to watch it on the train so that I'm ready when I get home.

I'd happily take part in either the Nintendo LIVE or post mortem, don't mind which :)

My main issue is that I want to get the recordings done as soon as possible. That way I'm not spending the whole week working on them like I did last year. Especially since I'm going away for a couple of nights on the Friday.

But I'm going to review the timings of some things tonight and see what I can arrange. Stay tuned for an update.

I would love to stay up podcasting into the wee small hours, however that isn't possible for me now compared to previous years. It doesn't help that they seem to be even later in the evening compared to previous years.

Yeah. Wasn't an issue last year, but there's been relatively little interest so far compared to then. I'm surprised actually as they went down really well I thought. I just want to avoid a situation where it's the same people talking on every single one. I liked that there was some variety in the line-ups.

I'll see what I can sort out later on tonight.

I'm still up for any of the Nintendo stuff, even if some of the other conference analyses don't end up happening. :)
