When will these scrubs learn? :slol:

He's hardly a fraud. The guy went up 2 weight classes for the fight and lost. Not many others would have done that.

He's also still the featherweight champion.

Lost to someone who was fighting on ten days notice. Back to featherweight for him where he's bigger and heavier than everyone he fights. Apparently they were wanting him to fight GSP at UFC 200. That would be an embarrassment going by last night's fight.

Glad for Meisha Tate but no doubt Rousey was desperate to come back as soon as possible when she saw that result

Oh and strawberry float off to the UFC for geo-blocking the videos they post on Twitter :?

McGregor is a fraud who massively cuts to beat up on midgets, he's the UFC equivalent of Boxing's Irish Mexican fraud Canelo, the same thing will happen to ginger when he fights someone at his natural weight, but instead of quitting he'll be put to sleep in brutal fashion by GGG.

He's a natural lightweight and imo the division I'm most interested to see him compete. Weird you criticise him from beating up midgets when he moved up two weight classes to fight a welterweight. There's gloating about conors defeat which is justified, however there's comments like the above which goes beyond stupidity. Also you talk about frauds, mayweather just fought Berto. Nobody asked for that joke of a fight.

Nailed it.

He beats up on people in his own weight class. The one he is the champ of.

Wait what are you on about ha? handpicked, who else was he going to fight, please enlighten us? he was supposed to fight the champion Dos Anjos, he got injured or scared one of the two, Aldo wanted none of it who ironically is now laughing and saying Conor doesn't hit hard (most likely a a bad troll attempt), Ceronne neither (who would have got killed btw) and neither did Frankie. Are you saying Diaz was hand picked - like there was plenty of other fights to choose from. Also the Diaz brothers are never an an easy fight and usually more than ready to go on short notice, besides look what happened. I can totally appreciate people enjoying the McGregor loss, I get it, so did I, but then you get this level people stretch to to discredit all of his accomplishments. It's madness. It's fine to hate, but please, credit where credit is due when it comes to actual fighting ability/style and having the will to fight anyone.

It's getting pretty annoying seeing the UK press almost completely ignore the UFC unless McGregor is fighting.

The articles in the guardian are hilariously bad, they've evidently realised it's a big media market but the main writer on it is their strawberry floating NFL guy doing double duty.

Here's a link to all of the Guardian's coverage http://www.theguardian.com/sport/ufc Spot the common theme

Also, note the zero coverage of the event in London the other week that featured a veteran British fighter beating one of the best ever.

Wouldn't mind but outside of being draws her and Mcgregor aren't that interesting, there's proper journalism to be done about ufc like their shitty pay for veterans, the rebook deal, the firing of guys and the stories of other fighters but it's just those two nonstop.
They haven't even tried to see if anyone's interested in anything else

The thing with Rousey is that she has strawberry float all appeal outside of America. At least McGregor has his little clone army and the casual fans over here (speaking of which, this thread was really quiet compared to the last time he fought :simper: )

Cerrone, Pettis, Alvarez. So he got to pick his opponent, and you're not telling me he picked Diaz for any reasons other than money and his belief he was the easiest of the four.

I mean that's fine. I'm not going to give him much credit though for taking a $1 million fight against a guy who had 11 days notice, after Conor had been training for a tougher (and undeserved) fight anyway.

The only person Conor beat who meant anything to me was Aldo. The fact he thinks he's better than Jon Jones is incredible (I hate them both, but Jones is legit).

He would've gotten over a million regardless of who he fought so that's not really a legitimate criticism, could easily have just gone for another featherweight bout.

Having said that I'm glad he lost, cocky gobshite. Saw people saying he's a better fighter than Ali after the Aldo fight

I don't get why people in here are annoyed at the media coverage. It's either gonna be McGregor and Rousey or no UFC coverage at all, this isn't a mainstream sport yet.

Well my main point is I'm not giving him credit for taking any fight because he got paid an absolute fortune, got to choose his opponent, and he'd been training.

He could have fought a featherweight I suppose. That said, #2 Aldo shouldn't be fighting (90 days from a KO), #3 Edgar was injured, and #4 Mendes already fought Conor on short notice.

I mean who's buying a PPV to watch Conor fight the #5 featherweight?

Probably not that many less than bought the PPV for the Diaz fight. All my friends who watched the fight had never even heard of Diaz before, they watched purely for McGregor. He may not be the best fighter out there but he's certainly the best at self-promotion.

I see a lot of people saying that McGregor was exposed, I'm not sure exactly what he has been exposed as. Everyone knew Diaz was the stronger grappler.

The weight was clearly an issue for McGregor, he looked slower even at the end of the first. All credit to Diaz for taking the fight on short notice, he used his range well and capitalised when Mcgregor was hurt expertly. But people seem to be ignoring the rest of the fight which was largely a McGregor beating in the first, and a brutal war in the second up until the finish. I think McGregor at full speed finishes Diaz, whether or not he can achieve that at welterweight is another question.

I did laugh at McGregor becoming a 'panic grappler' as he likes to call it though.

He landed alot of lefts in the first, but nothing that even made Diaz flinch. I wouldnt exactly say McGregor was giving him a beating. He was hitting him, but thats about it. The cut over the eye looked alot worse than it was.

Ok beating is harsh, Nate was boxing fairly well but he was really getting cracked with those left hands and seemed very cautious. To be fair to McGregor as well, in that scuffle at the end of the first round he actually ended up on top, I think Diaz was more hurt than people think.

In more horseshit UFC booking, it looks like there might be a McGregor vs Diaz rematch at UFC 200. Because apparently McGregor being soundly beaten by someone on ten days notice wasn't definitive enough.

If I was Frankie Edgar I'd be fuming at those banana splits.
