What a shitshow 223 was. Supposed to clarify the lightweight situation (which all came about through the UFC disregarding its own ranking and title defence rules) and it did anything but. We now have Khabib was champ when his opponent wasn't even eligible (according to the commission) to be in contention for the title. Such a clusterfuck.

Sounds like Lesnar vs Miocic/Cormier could be on the cards as well. Yet more fun with rankings and titles if Lesnar ends up winning the title. :slol:

They both lost to Mickey Gall via Rear Naked Choke. Every win Mickey Gall has had has come via RNC too.

UFC 225 looking stacked. :datass:

I really dig Punk but that can’t be the main attraction can it?

Ah, just seen the card

Did Romero start his career really late? He's about 50 isn't he, yet he's only had 15 fights. Anyway, decent-looking card, but I'm still struggling to care too much. When the overall progression in each division seems driven by whatever's going to make the most money, or whichever fighter feels like challenging for the title in a different weight class, it makes the rankings and logic behind any fights redundant. And Rashad should've quit years ago, will be 5 losses in a row if he loses here.

He’s 40. He did wrestling for years (won silver at the olympics in 2000) but started MMA relatively late like Cormier did.

Oh come on, this Khan ‘fight’ feels like nothing more than a squash match to flog a PPV.

Suddenly remembered the Khan fight was on, thought ‘excellent I’ve only missed 30 seconds’. Oh.

I’m often surprised when you see him announcing certain fights. Seems such a waste of money at times.

Helluva a fight. :datass:

Demian The Human Backpack Maia style vs Usman is a very interesting style fight. Been a fan of Usman since his appearance on The Ultimate Fighter.

Anyone watching this season of The Ultimate Fighter? Coach DC and Coach Stipe.

I swear Stipe needs subtitles, for an American, it sometimes doesn't sound like English is his first language.

Did no one see last weekends Barboza v Lee?

It was a great fight, with a strong performance from Lee but he had the ultimate chicken legs in Round 3!

Armchair critic and all that, but looking at that gif im baffled as to why Barboza got in so close and allowed Lee to clinch and recover. Lee was out on his feet, he should have thrown an uppercut straight down the middle or even another kick at him, but instead he held off and allowed Lee to grab him, recover, and win. Crazy. Wasnt a great fight overall tho, Lee just humped him for 5 rounds. Like i love a good display of grappling but even this fight i was just like god damn, stand them up already cause this gooseberry fool is getting boring

I actually really enjoyed that fight. Lee took a huge kick but Barboza had been getting hit a tonne leading up to it. Don't think he had the energy and sense to go in for the kill.

Kevin Lee vs Khabib would be interesting. They seem to be the best LW wrestlers in the division. Although Khabib stand up doesn't seem too hot by comparison.

Just seen that Ariel Helwani is leaving MMA Fighting and moving to ESPN. That's MMA Fighting pretty much dead then.
I used to watch The MMA Beat every week at one point, and The MMA Hour occasionally as well. I'm sure some of those will continue in pretty much the same format, but still - end of a good series of shows. I notice he's going to be co-hosting something with Chael Sonnen at ESPN. :dread:

Till vs Wonderboy was such a dull fight. Two strikers barely throwing punches.

Just as dull as Woodley vs Wonderboy.

The walkout to Sweet Caroline had me more hyped than the fight itself.

Wonderboy managing to take him down suggests Usman/Woodley or any serious wrestler will cause him issues.

CM Punk got dismantled last night against Mike Jackson. By the looks of it the only positive is that it didn’t end in round 1.
