Last night went really well! Took in a couple of random raids and made a few followers. Starting to get close to 50 followers now, just need to up the viewer count from an average of 2.3 to 3, which seems like it will be quite tough. :lol:

Good luck Cora! Are you looking to start taking streaming seriously, maybe getting some side income from it? Or is it just going to be for fun at the moment?

Oh it's absolutely just for fun at the moment(and probably forever), I have enough to be getting on with writing books, teaching classes and other interesting stuff. Streaming has actually been a really fun way to just let off steam, play some games and chat gooseberry fool with other like minded people. It'd be nice to hit affiliate in order to get the additional benefits on Twitch but it's not essential by any means.

I gained another follower yesterday from the Power Rangers stream, though I do need to watch some of it back as I'm pretty sure the new microphone I'd got plugged in was picking up the fan whenever I wasn't talking. Nothing more distracting than a constant buzz getting in the way of gameplay sound and driving viewers away.

EDIT: I say it right at the start of the stream. Battle for the Grid is a loud game. So what do I do? Have it so loud that my voice can barely be heard, even though with any other game that would be the right settings. Although from what I have been hearing of my voice, it sounds a lot better quality through the microphone rather than the internal one. We'll see come LEGO City Undercover just how much better it does sound.

It's from the "building a community" achievement for reaching 50 followers and getting 5 people chatting at once, it unlocks 10 VIPs to begin with, and you unlock more the more people you have chatting at once.

I'm close to affiliate, the only one I need to hit is the 3 viewer average, currently at 2.63/ in 16.25 hours streaming but I think I wasted a lot of those hours trying out different streaming setups and stuff.

Won't have time to stream again until Thursday evening at the earliest due to college and work though

Feel like I've hit a bit of a rut with Twitch over the past few weeks. Hardly getting any viewers most of the time and frankly I'm getting bored talking to myself.

Need to shake it up a bit somehow.

I'm only missing three followers from affiliate Maf, think I've managed the three average somehow. You'll get to average of three viewers in no time hopefully!

Hey man for what it's worth I've popped in a few times whenever I've noticed you online and really enjoy both your chat, and the content of your streams. I don't think you're doing anything wrong.

I find because of my working hours I'm quite limited in when I'm free to stream. I often find that whenever I go live everybody and his dog goes live at the same time.

By the same token I can’t always stay up watching as late as I’d like as if strawberry floats me over for work the next day.

Yeah, my usual time for streams in 9pm and has been for about 5 years. I can't stream earlier due to kids and can't stream later due to getting up in the morning. The last few nights of streaming until 2am has strawberry floated me. I'm so tired I feel ill.

8pm is convenient for me to get on and stream, but I do understand that plenty of people also go live around the same period. In terms of commentary while playing, it can be hard when talking to yourself, since you need to find things to talk about while playing the game. It's easier to react to things happening in the chat and interacting with people, but without that commentary viewers are more likely to disappear (if they haven't within thirty seconds owing to the appearance of an advert).

The first of my LEGO City Undercover streams had me complete more of it than I was expecting. I'd put in my planning for eight of them, but reduced that to six after finishing the stream. Further reflection the next day had me drop that further to four with a tentative fifth if needed. It also proved to be a much better test of my new microphone than the Power Rangers stream, as I could actually hear what I was saying.

A few years back it was easier, we could work around each other to be in each others streams and give more support but now there are more and more people streaming its getting unpossible.
