A tease of the new content for GTA V arrived today, along with there being triple rewards on land races. So I'm live on the game right now to do those. Tomorrow on the GRcade channel, I'll also have more GTA V. That stream will feature the Yacht missions, which are also on triple rewards. Two days in a row of GTA V. I really do love the game.

Surely you can set up the mic so it picks up your voice and doesn't pick up things that are quieter and just make sure your sound is quite than your voice?

Hm, possibly. I'd need to get a dedicated microphone to test it out and play around. Might go with the one I posted above as it's only £25 and seems to have some decent reviews/feedback.

A gate?
I've set up sources and scenes ok, no idea what a gate is though.

I mean set up a noise gate if you use a mic on the PC directly. You click on the cog for the mics audio and select filters.

I need to take another look at setting up mic filters for things like gate and the like as I'd like to cut out some of the gooseberry fool that my mic seems to pick up.

Things like intake of breath and the like, I listened back to some of my last Dark Souls stream and I sounded like a mechanic about to give someone bad news! :fp:

Oooh, looks like you're going to have to reverse your hollowing and that's going to come with a steep price I'm afraid.

I did have mine really tidy but recently...is its gone weird. I must have accidentally changed something.

I did post a YouTube video in here somewhere with a good tutorial on how o get a good sound from tour mic, even from lower quality mics. It also shows you the best way to cut out background noise. You do it so you are quiet and any noises it picks up in the background will be under the threshold and stuff like that.

Yeah I rememeber watching that before and I think I had it setup pretty well on my old PC but the settings didn't move across so I need to do it all again! :fp:

Going to try out my new microphone and OBS setup at 9pm tonight with Sakura Wars on the PS4.

Thanks again to Pedz for both the Elgato HD60 and the advice on setting things up

Got myself set up with an overlay ready for tonight's continuation of Sakura Wars at 9pm :toot:

Tried making my own and the initial result was shockingly bad so I ended up picking one up from Nerd or Die

Ah! You picked up some of Pedz's gear! Nice one! Streaming is becoming pretty popular here in GR and I guess the newer consoles will make the process even easier :-).

It's definitely perfect for getting me going!

I was going to look at potentially upgrading to a 4K compatible one next year if I was still quite into streaming, but at £390 I think I'll leave that for a good long while

I suspect it won't be a long or particularly entertaining stream ( :dread: ), but I am about to test out how well OBS works on my new laptop / connection, mostly just out of curiosity to see if I can do it! I'll be in the header, say hi if you drop in. (The game will hypothetically be Dark Souls 1 but it depends how many technical difficulties there are :slol: )

(EDiT: Oh no, sorry Devlin, I was trying to time this so it didn't interfere with anyone else's schedule. Well, I've kind of committed now so I'll still test it out but I think anyone looking for a serious stream should watch Devlin instead!)
