Not long ago I got back to streaming on the GRcade channel, and for a little bit others were also streaming to the GRcade Twitch Channel. Thing is, that's kinda fizzled and the only streams there now are (the newly returned) Retro Monday, the occasional bit of Final Fantasy IX and the GRcade Twitchcast. I'm posting hoping that people would be interested in doing an occasional stream to the channel. It's pretty much at the moment P3DZ 2 and it's a shame as we had some great variety on there with Falsey and his weird simulators, Doom with his Gamecube RPGing, Earfolds with his mods.

It was pretty ace. I completely understand that people are busy and can't always jump on there to stream and that's likely the cause of the lack of streams (I know REarfolds and Doom have been busy for various reasons.) I'm hoping that they'll be able to do stuff along with others so we can have regular streams to the channel. I'm not looking for a commitment or anything, what I was doing before was sending a PM out on a Monday and then seeing who was available to stream that week. Hopefully, that approach can still work as it means people don't have to have a strict schedule on there and then there's no pressure on people to stick to it.

Anyone in?

Only thing I ask is if you unavailable, please just reply with can't this week or something, I get sad when no one replies for weeks to my PMs

I'd be up for it since no one watches my streams anyway :slol: Can't make any regular commitments though due to work and studies.

I try and tune into everyone from here. It's bloody getting hard though. Yesterday (or Saturday) there were about 5 or 6 people from here streaming.

Yeah, as I said on a Monday I'll pop out a PM and go from there. I think making it a non-commitment and just a fun community thing is the way to go.

It's cool, I know people are busy and I completely understand it. I just liked that we, as a community were doing something else together. It's weird. It's like a group of friends being around another's house while they chat, laugh and the house owner plays a game, or they play multi-player. Well, it's as close to it I'll ever get again

As I said in your other thread I kinda have an idea of my own in mind that’s been killing round my head for a while but if I’m around I’d be up helping out. Would mostly be retro stuff or Dead Cells.

Streaming has interested me for a while but I just never got round to it.

Yeah, I'm really interested in seeing what you plan. Yeah, I was interested in Streaming for a long while, it was after I watched Cheeky Devlin stream about 3 years ago that I had someone I could ask about how it worked, which I then decided to do as it's pretty simple.

The first game I streamed I believe was The Order 1884 and was in October 2015 I think.

I agree! I really enjoyed hanging around your RL stream on Saturday actually, more than I thought I would even!

I do miss being on the podcast too so I'll have to get around to joining you guys with that also.

I'm also entirely happy to stream to GR. I'm working through a hell of a backlog of less-mainstream stuff right now (and I could even stream some more popular multiplayer stuff if my discord group don't mind)

My issue is I’m super lazy. I need to create a schedule for myself and stick to it.

Like I had a cool idea for a YouTube series years ago but just never got around to it and now someone else (and more importantly someone famous) did something identical and I feel I’d just look like a rip-off.

Yeah, I've tried sticking to schedules, doesn't work for me

It really depends on what you want from Twitch, if you just want to have fun, just stream, see who pops in chat and enjoy yourself. If you want it for a bit of extra cash you'll have to put more work in, and look at various ways to make your stream unique, and to make it a full-time thing you'll likely have to work harder at least until you get the viewership etc.

I'm currently trying to stream and then every month do a video looking back at the past month of my streams and talking a bit about the games. I want to do more than just stream, but I don't have the time or talent to do it, tbh.

I was thinking about streaming Judgment since that's out tomorrow but it's probably really cutscene-heavy like the Yakuza games outside of the side missions stuff.

I thought about how some foods are kind of interchangeable for example swapping out plain mince in a shepherds pie for say Bolognese or chilli then started drawing up ideas for what I was gonna call Hybrid Cooking, like combining two cuisines or two types of meal together into one.

One of my ideas was a dessert scotch egg and then bloody Heston Blumenthal goes and releases one.

I combine food, like Chilli lasagna, or Chilli Lasagna Pizza.

Neat. Also, a shame.

I had a dessert scotch egg once. Lovely it was.

Basically I’d been watching too much Epic Meal Time.

I'm aiming to get a regular thing going with streams of old school Doom megawads (there's no shortage of them to go through!) and would happily do that on the GR channel either in addition to or instead of using my own channel.

I've been meaning to get back and finish my stream of "Doom 2 the way id did" anyway (was going to get on it over the weekend but as has been pointed out it seemed every man and his dog from here was already streaming!)

That’s why I think a schedule would work well. You know like Mondays at 9 Pedz plays retro games etc.

Otherwise you just have a bit of a free for all where there are so many people trying to be seen that there’s nobody left to see them.

I’m gonna try another test stream using OBS in around 20 mins. Alex Kidd in Miracle World if anyone wants to join me. I used to be able to beat it but I’m super rusty now.
