Does anyone else get random gift subs from channels you haven't even watched before? It's happened to me quite a few times now and I've no idea how :lol:

I never saw your missus or heard anything myself as it seemed you muted your mic. Then again, maybe I muted the stream by accident.

Had planned to stream some more GTA Online today, but my HDR Rocket now refuses to work. Kind of unfortunate as I had hoped to be doing something Star Wars related tomorrow as my own kind of Star Wars Celebration (the event of which would have started tomorrow). Won't be able to do anything now until the 31st when the Elgato one arrives. I'll try again tomorrow, just in case it's being iffy, but if it's not working with its own software, that kind of says it all.

Internet was upgraded yesterday, speeds are still fluctuating a bit but the upload seems to be around 5Mb/s so that's nice. Tried out a few test streams yesterday and watching them back it handles 720p60 from the PS4 fine (was wondering why I couldn't stream in 1080p but it seems that was only introduced with the PS4 Pro).

Streaming with my laptop while I'm away on holiday. Someone please come in and let me know if my audio is scuffed.

Got my Elgato, so ran a test stream on a classic Battlefront. I can do 720p no problem, but I'm pretty sure 1080p causes instability. That's what it said on the Twitch stream manager, at any rate. I'm just happy that I can get back to recording video and streaming, though.

Next up, very possibly tomorrow (and I will remember to say in this thread when I do) some more GTA V, to do what I had been meaning to on the day the Hauppauge stopped working.

I think I wanna get in on this action when I'm set up in my long-term home, in about a year.

Streaming a run-through of Resident Evil: HD at 20:30, and have finally managed to get my stream overlays working properly so I can actually see things. :lol:

I'm trying out a new game. No, not Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, though I am tempted to do a stream on it, but a recent Switch release of Mask of Mists.

I paid for an Elgato Capture Card which was £150 RRP, and already had all the other gear - a headset, console, etc etc. I know you can get much cheaper capture cards than what I paid for though.

Didn't have a mic or a good webcam (was needing both of these for college anyway), and I'm streaming from a MacBook Pro rather than a gaming PC so this is what I bought:

Blue Yeti Nano microphone £99.99 - piece of piss to set up and works perfectly on consoles too for voice chat

Microphone arm stand £29.99 - didn't want the mic sitting on my desk with the included stand where it would pick up typing and clicks, so got this so it can be easily adjusted and moved out the way when not in use. Comes with a pop filter and foam tip which was handy.

Elgato HD60 S+ capture card £169.99 - used to capture the HDMI output from my PS4 and Switch on my MacBook so I can stream it. Went with this version rather than the HD60 S since it captures audio easier on MacOS without pissing about with installing extra software.

Razer Kiyo webcam £119 - built in ring light really helps since the lighting in this room isn't the best.

OBS Studio - to stream to Twitch. It's free.

I've recently upgraded to an Elgato HD60 S, and just recently invested in a Trust GTX212 Microphone so I no longer have to rely on the internal one of my laptop. You're looking at around £200-300 depending on what you need, but it really depends on what sort of a setup you have when playing games in the first place. I've got no chance of using a webcam beyond the internal one of my laptop, for example, as I don't have anywhere to put one that would be in a better position than what the internal one is.
