I posted these a couple of times on Gamesradar. I've drawn a couple more recently which I'll upload at some point.

It's not showing. Know why? The forum censor censored a word in the image link, making it unusable. That's kind of funny.

And I thought the swear filter was just one of the things done to make this place seem more like the old forum.
But makes sense to throw off those shackles I guess.

Enough with the words:

Thanks.

My Human Gets Me Blues wrote:How did you draw those?

Well, um... I put my stylus down on my tablet and moved it around.
Does that help?

But seriously? I did them in Photoshop with a custom brush. I began with a quick sketch, then painted in the colours on a layer beneath the sketch layer.
I'm not all too proud of them. I always forget to think ahead when I do these paintings. I forget to think about the composition, forget to think about colours and how to use them to complement each other,...

My Human Gets Me Blues wrote:I'd like to move on from my quick sketches to using colour, but it may necessitate a shift to Photoshop for drawing rather than Flash.

Really the best way to practice drawing is with a good old regular pencil. It's much easier to take that skill and apply it to Photoshop, Flash or Painter than it is to take tablet drawing and apply that to drawing with a pencil.
But regarding colour I can point you to this awesome tutorial:
http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm

I don't follow it myself nearly as much as I should.

Some good reading and viewing material from the creator of the Ren & Stimpy show:
John K's assorted blog posts on composition
This post in particular is very informative

And this is my attempt so far at making a car in Max

Not sure what's going on with the shade at the bottom/middle, but when I think it's done I'll mirror it to make the other side.

Oh well, more bumpage. Here's a screen of my first 3D submission this year for uni, meant to be a 3000 poly medieval building.

Very nice stuff. Especially the 3D stuff, I remember when I used to play around with Vue D'espirit when I was younger. Awesome stuff :D!

Just a couple of things I've cobbled together with Paint.net.

They're quite large hence the spoiler boxes.

Just decided to have a shot at vector again. Better results than the first time I tried it but strawberry floating hell is it time consuming and fiddly, I didn't bother with the face (but I've got .PSD if I want to go back to it) and I didn't bother doing the fringe. Would take too long. Sorting out the layers was a bitch as well.

Image

Bit crap, but I intend to add to it.

These are all so good! In a contrived gesture of 'me too', here are some trifles of mine.

Image
Music logo using a program I wrote in C++ to break down and compress a 1 bit image into tiles.
Image
Another, this time using experiments in cellular automata for the dissolve effect (reversed).
Image
Plots of 'stars' trajectories in 2D space under each other's gravitational pull. I then experimented on the resulting plot in Photoshop.
Image
A composite of 2 photos of the same scene (one high, one low). They were blended in Photoshop, then some filtering was applied to bring out the colours.
Image
My brother's motocross team logo at one point.
Image
An 'ad' for some uni project I did.
Image
Some random 'movie' poster I knocked up to pull the collective leg of the Radarnation lot.

I used to be a semi-competent if uninspired drawing stuff guy. I picked up a pencil for the first time in years and drew a couple of quick pics. None of that dazzling mediocrity has left me it seems:

I can't line up eyes right, for starters.

Still a helluva lot better than what I can do. I used to be ok/semi-good at drawing an' gooseberry fool. But then I just stopped it and don't have the concentration to do anything good anymore. If I try now I just get bored and resort to scribbles.
