Wadjit Eye tend to make excellent point & clicks, if you're a fan of the genre then you're in fairly safe hands.

Thanks, that was my understanding. It will be nice to finally try one!

They're very old school/retro style too, like the old Lucas Arts and Sierra point & clicks.

Saw that on the eshop, put it on my wishlist at least. Looks very modern Cartoon Network in style, which is fine, and sports RPGs are very lacking (especially as I didn't really like Golf Story)

I have no idea why they're doing this in a blog format. Based on the view counts on the gifs in the Axiom Verge blog, no one knows this is happening.

They seem to do it this way now, this is the third or fourth time they did these indie announcements in this format

I think Wytchwood looks great visually, really nice almost pop-up children's book art style

Still haven't played the first Axiom Verge

Loved the look of Wytchwood too, and I think the gameplay may offer something a bit different as well but need to see more to be sure of that.

This is also on The List:

Whilst the last one had cool announcements, I was not a fan of the format they used so will skip this and read a summary after.

The first Axiom Verge was fantastic, easily one of my favourite Metroidvania games. Can't wait for the second, especially as it seems to be offering something quite unique rather than being a simple sequel

I should probably give Axiom Verge another go. I bounced off it on Wii U. Didn't like the visuals much.

Seconding this... but it felt like a perfect handheld game, down to the graphical style that felt like a conscious call back to early DS 3D games. I can't see that translating as well to the big screen.

It sounds like they are updating the graphics for the PS release which i'm not all that keen on, like you mentioned, it felt like the perfect handheld game and the graphics were part of the charm. At least more people get to experience it though.
