Wuppo: Definitive Edition has been confirmed to be coming to Nintendo Switch next month. It looks quirky and interesting.

One I will pick up eventually, also have Castle Crashers Remastered

and Untitled Goose Game

launching on Switch next month, Switch has really become home to a fantastic selection of indie games.

Woo Goose Game! :toot:

Surprised there's been no talk about the beautiful looking Shovel Knight Dig. Easily in my top 10 most wanted games.

Nitrome  Used to spend ages playing their webgames, they all had excellent music too.

Come across the Giant Beastcast quick look for Heave-Ho and it looks like a great multiplayer game

It’s on the Switch eshop for £8.99.

I think a lot of people were expecting the Shovel Knight news to be a release date for a king of Cards, not another game in the series, don’t get me wrong it looks alright though but not something I’m overly keen on getting.

December isn't a release date per se, but that is when King of Cards is releasing.

Yeah I’ve seen December as a release month for it as well, not much longer to wait I suppose!

Greg Buchanan, the writer behind most of No Man's Sky's plotting, has released a free interactive fiction game centred around a lightly fictionalised version of the 2016 US election

https://gregbuchanan.itch.io/american-election

I loved it, and I also wish I'd never played it. It's nightmarish in that, through deft narrative it shines a light on exactly the type of world we're living in. It's deeply affecting, depressing even, and I couldn't recommend it to anyone who's already anxious about the state of the world, but it's extremely well done.

Quite an intricate one, added in the first big update Atlas Rises:

EDIT: The guy also did some writing on Metro Exodus apparently.

I can't work out if I want to play this or not

It's worth experiencing. Playing with the sound off helps, the music adds to the oppressive nature of the thing for sure.

I picked up Legend of the Skyfish on Switch.

It was originally released on mobile back in 2016, and it has mobile design through-and-through, especially with it's dotted-line level screen, sound effects and general art style.

If that's immediately off-putting, then maybe this description helps: Legend of the Skyfish is what Zelda would be if it were a mobile game. With Link's items reduced to a single fishing rod that acts as both sword and hookshot, each level is like a mini 2D Zelda shrine.

I'm midway through the second world, of which I believe there are three (for a total of 45 levels with presumably 3 bosses), and I'm having fun with it. Worth the asking price? Probably not, I'll be done with it in a couple of hours. But I'm a sucker for 2D Zelda-likes and this is another somewhat interesting take on it, given it's mobile design.

I'll wait on a good sale price for this. Looks good fun in multiplayer but not 9 hours worth of fun.

Played a little over 3 hours of Creature in the Well so far

My in-progress review is "better than Momonga Pinball Adventures, not as good as Yoku's Island Express"

The lack of like actual enemies is a unexpected and weird thing the game's got going for it. Some nice visual design but I feel like the game doesn't do a particularly good job of actually showing it off? Basically I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but it's kept me engaged for a few hours and I will be playing it more.

I’ve heard some people say it’s really hard, how are you finding it? I like the look of it but if it’s rock hard i might have to pass

If anything I've been thinking the opposite. So far I've done the opening and two monoliths (read dungeons), and it's been pretty simple. Exactly one room has given me trouble, which was only to unlock a secret room and only trouble because you had to do it very quickly, and otherwise I have only left one other room incomplete as I don't think I have a required ability. I've not died yet and only come close to dying once.

That said the one room that was challenging was easily the most fun part so far, so I hope it steps up more as I go. I still have the majority of the game left (8 dungeons I think, not sure if the opening counts) and everything could easily change.

SEPTEMBER PLS

Also I'm now 69% of the way through Creature in the Well and I've died once (which was entirely my fault for messing around in a room that didn't need messing in) so I stand by saying the difficulty is overblown.

Obviously the biggest indie gaming right now is Celeste DLC but that has it's own thread ;)
