SEPTEMBER PLS

Also I'm now 69% of the way through Creature in the Well and I've died once (which was entirely my fault for messing around in a room that didn't need messing in) so I stand by saying the difficulty is overblown.

Obviously the biggest indie gaming right now is Celeste DLC but that has it's own thread ;)

September is ridiculous with the amount of games coming out!

Sounds like the difficulty comments on Creature in the Well were over blown reading your views. This is on my Switch wish list so I will buy it once it’s on sale.

I also need to re-download Celeste on Switch and try the new content.

Posted in bargains thread, but thought it would be worth mentioning in here too:

All time low price on Guacamelee 1 and 2 on Switch eshop atm at £5.99 and £8.99 respectively. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Metroidvanias.

Picked up the sequel finally!

Moonlighter is also on sale on the eshop, currently £11.25.

Hope you enjoy! I felt it stepped things up a gear and is up there with the classics of the genre.

Overland is another great looking Indie game launching this week. Believe it’s coming to Switch and PS4 not sure about XBO though.

This will have to go on the Wish List for me as i’ll be grabbing Castle Crashers Remastered and Untitled Goose Game on Switch this week.

Looks like Sayonara Wild Hearts is getting a little overlooked on here due to the ridiculous release surplus over the last few days but I can highly, highly recommend it.

It's Rez for the Carly Rae generation and it is magnificent.

Agreed Taf, it’s a shame it’s came out now, it’s on my Switch wish list but it’ll have to wait a while till I grab it sadly (same goes for Overland)

I actually bought it over Goose Game (mainly because I'm saving that to go through with my other half) and I have no regrets. I would say it feels like it's going to be quite short, but also one of those games with stages you'll replay hundreds of times

Is that the one that's on Apple Arcade?

I'll be playing Sayonara Wild Hearts soon, same as Milner I want both it and Overland but I have other games (Link's Awakening!) to play right now. Untitled Goose is next on my priority list after Zelda.

Indeed. I think the release of Arcade is the first time since 2010 I've actually wanted an iPhone.

cool

EDIT: Just finished my first run through and man alive that was good. Gave me the sort of heart pounding sensation I only really get from games like Rez and Rock Band.

If you like (strawberry float it, even if you can barely tolerate) pop music you owe it to yourself to give this a try

Does it offer enough to make you complete multiple playthrough’s?

The devs behind this also made Year Walk which I played on Wii U and enjoyed a lot.

There's a lot of unlockables behind high scores which'll give it some replay. Completing it immediately unlocks an album mode that allows you to complete the whole game in one sitting without score screen and stage selects (which I did immediately after finishing the game for the first time. It took about 45 minutes so take that as you will).

At the moment I don't want to do anything but play it again, it's really got its claws into me

The music in the trailer is terrible, I can't imagine playing it for five minutes without wanting to rip my ears off.

I think it’s really cool, it fits the tone of the game from what I have seen of it.

Check this out and maybe see what you think?

83% on MC - https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/ ... ild-hearts

Eurogamer recommended -

All of this is the work of Simogo, a studio whose games I love, and whose forthcoming projects I always worry about slightly, worrying because the team seems to have such confidence and such taste that I am forever waiting for things to be over-worked, over-considered, to become too stylish, sharp-edged and chilly.

That hasn't happened yet. I now doubt it ever will. Sayonara Wild Hearts is such a simple thing but also such a complex thing, such a heartfelt thing. And so dense! Its exuberance is precision, its chaos is sheer choreography. It can reference Panzer Dragoon, Jet Set Radio, Dyad and Thumper while remaining entirely coherent, entirely itself.

And as for the shape, I would say it's more of a playlist than the standard video game movie pastiche. But then I think back to its atomiser bursts of transitions, one idea gusting into another, and I wonder if it's all more ephemeral that that. Maybe this is perfume, following the shape of the breeze. From top-note to drydown, vividly here and then vividly gone.
