It's Rez for the Carly Rae generation and it is magnificent.

I loved Rez but that looks like utter wank.

cool

EDIT: Just finished my first run through and man alive that was good. Gave me the sort of heart pounding sensation I only really get from games like Rez and Rock Band.

If you like (strawberry float it, even if you can barely tolerate) pop music you owe it to yourself to give this a try

The music in the trailer is terrible, I can't imagine playing it for five minutes without wanting to rip my ears off.

I think it’s really cool, it fits the tone of the game from what I have seen of it.

Check this out and maybe see what you think?

I definitely don't like the music at all, can't stand the high pitch female vocals, sounds like kids singing, just find it really grating.

I don't entirely hate pop sounding music but I'm rather selective about what I'll listen to

For example

Could listen to her voice all day.

Been playing this interesting PS4 indie game. It's good, but ugly and has framerate issues. You may have heard of it, it's called The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, it's only on the Switch though. Still, it's not a bad PS4 indie game tbh.

Tell you what, I've been playing Darkside Detective, it's a Point and Click adventure game, where you play a detective solving Darkside problems. It's really quite good, genuinely funny too. The little stories are different cases, and there are 6. All having a pun name based on a film, for example, Tome Alone and Disorient Express. It's pretty easy (don't mention the hammer, please) but it's meant to be a fun and funny game. It's definitely worth checking out. I'm playing it via Steam, and I'm not sure what iother platforms it's on, but if you can play it, check it out. There's a second game coming 2. Visually it's very simple pixel art though. People down even have faces, well they have eyes and stuff. but very little facial features.

Oh man this looks excellent. I didn't really get Oxenfree, the story wasn't scary enough and the characters were too realistically teenager to be anything but annoying, but the dialogue system is best in class. I'll play this just to get my hands on it again.

Wuh-oh :shifty:

Like who you like innit but straight up half of Goldfrapp's songs are sung falsetto.

She doesn't sound like a teenage girl though, besides that most of their output doesn't have that produced to strawberry float, identical autotune enhanced sound that most of today's pop music has.

Taste is taste is taste I get that. I hate a lot of today's pop too. But the Sayonara soundtrack is, by any pop standards, exceptional and, spoiler, works even better when you're interacting with it.

First playthrough of Sayonara complete. It is very polished and mostly a joy to play.

Doesn't quite click musically in the same way that things like Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan or traditional DDR/Guitar Hero style rhythm games do. Much more of a reflex, twitch mechanic, which will reward instinct building.

The music isn't anything I'm desperate to put straight onto my playlists, but it works very well for the style.

Glad I invested at launch. Always keen to support original rhythm games. Criminally neglected genre for innovative devs.

Production values on that showcase were abysmal. Every part was either scripted nonsense or inane rambling, all told in boring, boring voices.

The characters in Yooka Laylee described as unforgettable? When a major criticism lobbied at the game is how wooden and lifeless NPCs are?

In the minute or so they spent on Lonely Mountains, they repeated the same two things circa 8 times. The game looked fine! Let it speak for itself.

Spotted this im my Steam recommendations yesterday, looks quite interesting and possibly terrifying.

And something a little more cheerful

Looks like Stardew Valley with elements of Pokemon and Animal Crossing, still in early access/beta but looks well polished already.

This is out soon and looks/sounds excellent. Very under the radar.

Valfaris. Set in a far corner of space, Valfaris is a heavy metal infused 2D action-platformer and the next game from the team behind Unity Awards finalist, Slain: Back From Hell

Sorry for double post

I just picked up Gato Roboto in the Switch sale for half price. Meant to be a short but sweet Metroidvania. £3.59

It does look cool and I've tried to shine a light on it, Clarkman. I think GR has a few rock / metal fans so hopefully some folk will dig it!
