That's exactly where I am, I'm staying just opposite Lancaster Gate up the top of Hyde Park. I'll probably have a mooch around in the daytime with the wife, but I'll give you a shout early evening time.

Oh, and FYI to all you. There's a chance I won't be as confident as I am on the Discord chats. Maybe I'm just downselling myself, but I'm sure this weekend might set off some mild panic attacks. I can hold it together quite well, but you will know that's exactly what I'm doing. I remember my last trip down to London in 2016. Even with my best friend, there were a few instances where that occured. Such as when the receptionist asked "Where have you come from?" and I answered "You know the train station... over there..." Yeah... good times. However, I am a lot more confident in myself these days, so there's every possibility it won't happen anyway. That's exactly what this weekend away is testing.

Is there anything in particular we can do - or avoid doing - to reduce the likelihood of you having a panic attack? Or, if (as you say) it becomes clear that that's what's happening (or if you tell us), is there anything specific we can do to support you through it?

It's mostly a case of confidence and reassurance. If I have a faltering of confidence, the anxiety and panic is more likely to be set off. Reassurance from others can help if my own reassurance isn't helping. I've been getting a lot better at that in recent years, so hopefully things go smoothly.

You'll get plenty of reassurance and support mate. I've had a few of these meet ups. Azza stayed over at mine many years ago with a few other splendid folk. Also had a cracking day out with Drummy and Bunni way back in 2010.
After the initial awkwardness of meeting people IRL - we'll have a great afternoon.

Having some repairs done on our roof next week which is going to make money really tight so I don't think I'll be able to make the meet unfortunately.

My snoring?

I was thinking for some of us who have not met each other before on the day would it be a good idea to send a pic of each other on the day so when we do arrive at the pub we know who to look out for. As I do suffer a bit of social awkwardness at first when meeting new people but once i have relaxed around new people i am ok a beer tends to calm my anxiety. I have gone to a few pre-gig meet-ups with gatherings from the Pink Floyd community over the years. Loads of people i recognize from chats and pics but i get nervous introducing myself to new people even though we have a common interest. Which i feel like i may be the same on the day i may be fine, My anxiety does make me nervous at times.

As i do want to come to this meetup and meet you guys i have been part of the Grcade community since my late teens early 20's.

Pictures does sound a good idea, but of course not everyone wants their pictures public. I'll be sure to post one closer to the time, for sure.

I might come. It'll be interesting to meet everybody.

The image in question has still got to be hosted somewhere, though. Even set to hidden, bot trawlers from the likes of Google and Bing can still find them. Even if not display them.
