Slashy the Wanderer began her quest last night.

I couldn't play for very long, but I nipped downstairs into New Londo to get the Fire Keeper Soul, then ran through the Valley of Drakes and up Darkroot to say hello to Andre.

Lordran is calling to me!

All cool, Jenuall - I'll take you off the log for now but look forward to you playing on your new rig :-) .

Victor Mildew wrote:Thanks for putting me on the list, but I won't be playing again. I've still not finished DS3!...

I will take you off the log, Ad - but, if you haven't finished DS3, you could be added on for that if you fancied getting back to it?

Victor Mildew wrote:...I will however be playing demons souls on my ps5 this year :datass:

Ah! Demon's is included so you can definitely be added on for that next month!

Nice one, Karl - great to hear that you're back into the journey!

Crikey, it sounds like you're speeding through. It must be cool to be able to take differing paths once you know your way around the game. I'm planning to follow the path I did in my initial play earlier last year, just to get me back into the flow.

It was real neat seeing you tackle Bloodborne last night. The environments and atmosphere are so good. Edit: Oh! And those crazily loud crows  .

You can keep me on the log if you want to Jawa, the PC build is getting done either today or tomorrow so I'll be jumping in soon! :toot:

Ah! That's great... I'd thought that your new PC was gonna be several months away! Playing Souls on it will be an incred way to test it out  .

I only watched Maf for about 10 minutes but yeah those crows were absolutely terrifying just by their noise alone :dread:

Bloodborne looks far too mobile and quick for me - I'd be way too scared

Bloodborne is amazing, probably my favourite game on PS4. It expands the combat from Souls in very satisfying ways and the incentive it places to put the player on the front foot all the time makes for a really nice change

As everyone know, I tried Bloodborne.

I died so many times in the first city that my weapons actually got weaker. I can’t repair it until I beat the first boss. I can’t level up until I beat the first boss.

So deleted the damn game. :slol:

And I’m thinking of jumping back in. :fp: but don’t add me to the list. I may end up getting Demons’ Souls on the PS5. As someone said it’s a bit more easier than Bloodborne?

Bloodborne is arguably the easiest of the bunch, the faster paced combat and the chance to recover your health by attacking promotes an aggressive playstyle which doesn't work very well in the others.

Sounds like a decent idea, Wedgie; be good to have another go and there'd be folks here to offer any tips if needed :-) .

Zilnad, it could be a neat time to embrace Souls again! If you do dive in, just shout and you can be added to the Play Log.

I started my Dark Souls run this morning. Man, was I rusty... I'd forgotten so much about the game. Thankfully Kriken joined the stream at the start and suggested it might be a good idea to pick up a sword rather than continue trying to use the broken starter one  :fp:  .

It took a while for me to get into the swing of things; I'd forgotten how clunky the controls can be (jumping and kicking manoeuvres are tough!) and I can't remember about stuff like kindling (bonfires) and humanities so I will have to look that up... back-stabbing , too. Slowly, though, some things started to come back and I really enjoyed it. It's a tough but exhilarating game :-).

It was fun, too, to return to streaming. I'd forgotten how to link everything up but I'm sure that'll be easier next time. I'm very appreciative of the folk who dialled in - thank you  .

I'm uploading the video to my YouTube channel just in case you want to check out how bad I was at the start  .

By Souls standards yes. It's certainly no Scholar of The First Sin.

Of the three I’ve played (DS1, DS3 and BB) I’d agree with this, Bloodborne was definitely the smoothest journey for me. That said I don’t think I’ve found any of them to hold up to their punishing reputation

At least it gives you a sword, you don’t get a weapon in Bloodborne until you die at least once.

It’s entirely possible to progress a little way through the game not realising this like I did :fp:
