GRcade plays... Dark Souls series

Really enjoyed the next section of the game I did tonight - killed the Cursed Tree on my 3rd try (but 1st try of getting him to the second phase!), got the giant to stop throwing sticks at me and beat the demon with the fat onion guy still alive and (just!) found the stamina regen ring.

I was really gooped when the third time I got on the lift it went up haha.

Yeah fun session feel like I made some decent progress and will be going through the bottom of the church at the start of my next stream next Tuesday! (will do some more practice in the week too!).

Is this still a thing? While I didn't have this thread in mind at the time, I started Dark Souls 1 for the first time yesterday. I'm still at the beginning of the Undead Burg; I'm pretty sure this is where I was meant to go. I ran past the skeletons and picked up the Zweihander though I don't have the stats for it.

unfortunately it's a meme game so I know a lot, but the level design is unfamiliar at least haha

That's my 4-word review.

I got the platinum trophy on Bloodborne this week. I’ve put so many hours into that game and it really is a fantastic experience from beginning to end. The Amygdala boss fight in the chalice dungeon nearly broke me but it really is a masterpiece.

I loved Cainhurst Castle, Forbidden Woods and Hemwick Charnel Lane in particular.

I thought the game was a lot more forgiving than Dark Souls but overall they really do feel like very different games.

Onto Demon Souls next ...

dude nice! i still need the awakening ending to get the Plat. the Defiled Amygdala was the one that pissed me off the most too :lol:

The strategy I used was just to bait out that jump move and then immediately hit the head. If you summon NPCs to help, it actually makes the fight virtually impossible.

I’m so sad it’s all over now, I put so much time into it.

i did the same thing :lol:

stand in a particular spot, charge attack, hit head, repeat.

That’s the one, standing to the left of the tail is the sweet spot.

I think the Demon Souls remake is next up. I hear they a magic build is the way to go. Is that the case?

i know in the OG DS magic was OP. i dont know if they made any changes in the remake

It's definitely still really good in this compared to straight melee builds.
