Just realised I haven't updated my progress on here in ages. I'm halfway through NG+, just reached Anor Londo for the second time. Breezing through the game for the most part, although I'm expecting the second half to be a bit more challenging.

Seath and Nito have been defeated in my level 1 run! I didn't count but I think they took over a dozen goes each.

I learned the Duke's Archives Skip, where you roll off a moving elevator onto a balcony to skip being imprisoned. It was pretty hard, I was rolling off that elevator for like an hour before I got it. :slol: Seath was actually a fun fight, being low-level made me engage with his moveset in a way you don't necessarily have to if you're facing him fully kitted out.

After that, getting to Nito was pretty straightforward, but killing him required some lateral thinking because his skeleton minions could very easily take me out! I ended up using a pretty precise build - Havel's Armour to get close, then Power Within + Dusk Crown + Bellowing Ring to max out the damage of Fire Tempest, and the Dusk Ring to get two casts of it instead of one. We got there through trial and error so it did still take a while, but when it worked the fight was incredibly short...

Not sure if I want to try to do all bosses (which would involve heading to the DLC too!), or just beeline for Gwyn. Either way, I think Sif and Four Kings will be next!

It dying so fast after I got stomped so many times really tickled me for some reason  I'm still laughing when I think about it!

It sounds like you really got into this, mhtl. I'm guessing that enemies are tougher in NG+ mode?

Amazing stuff, site, and it's so good that you're really enjoying the game even after several playthroughs. This "level 1" approach is pretty demanding so well played!

They are tougher, but not by an amount equal to how much your stats have improved. So the early game bosses in NG+ are ridiculously easy, I think Asylum Demon took like three hits, Taurus was down in four. It does get tricky towards the end as you reach a bit of a cap for levelling Strength, but once you're past O&S (as I am now) it's not too bad.

For all the achievements you have to do two complete runthroughs and play half way through NG++. This is because the Soul Of Sif can be used to make three different weapons, and you need to create them all.

It died nearly as quickly as you did in some of your attempts ;)

I think the only real sticking point in NG+ for me was Four Kings. But I also did that early. Everything else was either easier or by the end just about the same or a little trickier

Can I make any weapon Divine in Dark Souls? I’m really struggling with the skeletons in the Nito fight in NG+. I need to put them down permanently. I’ve never suffered against Nito before but as a sorcerer, he’s really hammering me.

Any weapon that you can upgrade normally (with titanite) you can make Divine. You have to grab the Divine Ember from past the Moonlight Butterfly first. I'd recommend a club, mace, or hammer - strike (blunt) damage causes the skeletons to shatter making it much easier to take them out.

That's not the only way to approach the fight as a mage though. Here's a tip if you want one:

If you stay close to where you land, Nito will come to you - but Hidden Body + Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring will prevent the skeletons from noticing you.

Thank you so much for that sneaky tip. I beat him tonight. He still did that annoying attack on me though, where he puts a spike through the ground. But I managed to down him, with minimal fuss from the skeletons.

I’ve never struggled with Nito before, downed him first time on my initial mage playthrough and didn’t really ever notice the skeletons. But second time around, they were absolutely hammering me. It’s so odd how the game sometimes does that to you.

I’ve been back at work these last two weeks and haven’t had chance to play DS, hopefully this weekend I can finish the Four Kings and then march on to the end.

I finished the game SL1!

Gwyn was really hard. I hadn't advanced Solaire's quest enough to summon so rather than do that on-stream I thought it'd be more interesting to do some tries solo. I did get it eventually! The trick was to bait leap over and over.

Feeling pretty good about it - I have a backed up save so I might do the DLC some time. :toot:

Made a clip of the big moment:

I feel like the clip makes it look easier than it actually was, it was a sweaty minute or so for sure. :slol:

Thanks. Struggled a little with Gwyn on NG+ but apart from that all my sticking points were early game. I feel like the difficulty doesn't scale enough in subsequent playthroughs and it's easy to become overpowered.
