Xbox Adaptive Controller and wider progress on accessibility in videogames. The podcast ends on a discussion concerning how
accessibility and representation fit with both developer intent and audience expectation.

From now on the podcast will be coming out roughly once a fortnight. We have a really diverse cast lined up, with a lot of different interests, so we should be able to offer a lot of variety on the show in the coming months.

I can confirm my Nintendo Switch audio setup is an absolute mess. I have a cable going into my TV which then breaks out into a splitter, and that takes audio from my Switch into a mixer, where Discord comes in, and they both go into my headphones, as there's no other way I can hear the game and voice chat at the same time. If I used Nintendo's voice chat app, I'd need another cable to go into my smartphone.

I can't listen to things at work any more so my podcast time is non existent. I decided to listen to this while lying in the garden in the sun
I fell asleep when Taff was talking at the beginning
I'll try again in a less relaxing environment next time.

Just finished listening to this, it was good!
I particularly enjoyed the Frostpunk discussion apropos how it makes the player question the way they played the game, and the talk at the end about the emotional resonance of Metroid Prime.

Yeah, I added it to my wish list while we were talking about it, I then bought it a day or two later. I haven't played it, but I feel it'll be a game to play on a more chilled evening.

You see I only very recently started listening to podcasts (yes I'm slow) and I had subbed to he GRcade ones on my iPad. Was surprised to see this pop up so I queued it after one of my maker podcasts. I really enjoyed it.
Karl has a very good sort of interstasis radio directionality
Pedz is Pedz, I know him already. I also enjoyed the stuff about Prime, one of my favourite all time games
Kerr sounded great. I wanted to hear more from him in the latter half, I may have got lost, but I think maybe he wasn't asked any questions? I haven't really gotten into xcom yet, I have the first (new) game
Taf's review of Frostthingy was interesting, and very eloquent while still being easy to follow
Actually everyone had interesting things to say and it was an enjoyable listen.
I think maybe taf's mic was clicking or clipping? May be worth everyone checking their input levels in something like audacity. The recorded waveform should not totally fill the vertical space. If you have problems with sudden spikes in audio, try using a compressor or move the mic closer and speak quieter. That sounds unintuitive, but that's basically how it works.

Yeah, my mic was strawberry floating terrible so apologies for that. I went through the Mumble setup multiple times to make sure it wasn't going to hit any thresholds but apparently it did. I'm working on getting a better one for next time!
Thanks for all the feedback by the way, I really enjoyed doing it for what hopefully will be the first of many times.
EDIT: Recorded some audio on Mumble and put it into Audacity: it was my levels after all. Set way too high. It doesn't actually sound that bad otherwise.

I know you too well from Club U and Retro Mondays! I think you did a good job explaining the atmosphere and solitude of Metroid games and what makes them unique even with lots of "metroidvania" games these days.
Actually it later made me think of Forma8 on Wii U (which is just £1.79 on sale) I'm playing at the moment - that's a really evocative game.

thanks Green Gecko ..... I went a bit quiet towards the end because I am not a fan of the Metroid Prime games , I find them to be OK but im not over the moon about them and yet I know a lot of people like them and kind of didnt want to be all judgemental especially as I havent played any of them since the year the third one came out on the Wii. Heck I only finished Prime 1.
