The SNES version was different to the Mega Drive one, same as Aladdin, but I don't know which version was the 'good' one.

Apparently they're basically the same game with some small differences. Like Simba can't jump as high on the SNES version.

I bought the Lion King/Aladdin PS4 Remake for £20. I think that's probably the more reasonable way of playing it.

Still waste most of my lives trying to get through the wildebeest level though.

I nearly paid for it digitally for xbox one the other day as it was £7.50 but then grabbed the yokalee double pack for £10 instead as I figured I have aladdin and lion king on my megadrive.

The remake has a save function and the option to watch a preprogramed run and jump in when you want which I guess can get you past bits you're stuck on.

Doubt it's worth £20 unless you're in it for the nostalgia factor (which I am)

Gunstar heroes is something I'd like that I don't have but don't want to pay through the teeth for my ideal money is no object would be a complete Japanese copy, I've nearly grabbed loose carts or grabbed that 4 game cart that includes it but when you start looking at legal multicarts I start wondering if it's much better than me just playing it on my ever drive.

More modern-retro question - should I remove the battery from my 3DS and Vita for storage? I have my PSP battery removed because they apparently have a tendency to bloat, but that is nice and easy whereas I think 3DS and Vita require you to take them apart a little to get at the battery?

Same with my GBA Micro actually thinking about it! (And pretty much anything else like controller batteries inside PS3 pads...)

Obviously things that use actual batteries are much easier, like older Game Boys or Wii remotes.

The recommendations I have seen are not to remove battery's just to charge everything up every 4 months and then use it a bit which depending how much gear you have can be a nightmare. Anything with regular batteries like old gameboys gamegears etc deffiinetly store with no battery's in them.

I have seen a bloated psp battery it was in a psp that hadn't been charged or turned on for about 3 years (my other halfs mum's machine) and I've purchased a cheap second hand ds and found the battery to be very bloated but swapped it for one out a broken machine, obviously have no user history for that one.

Actually spent reasonably big money on a Retro Game for once, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow complete (American Konami's best Version) for £35 , I have all the GBA Castlevania games but kind of dropped off them during the DS days partly because of certain multi carts and partly because I was playing other bits and bobs.

I've been on look for PS1 games to own legally as I plan to play them on emulator (and my PS3) and I scored myself Mission Impossible for £4, in case. Also got Rayman in broken case thrown in for no additional cost, was one of these bids that ended soon on Ebay and nobody bidded on it.

Not having much of luck on Ebay/Facebook though.

Do you have any Indy game stores near you?

My PS1 stuff is a mix of charity shop finds, carboot finds and indy game shop purchases mostly

Nothing I can think of. With lockdown going on it's been hard to find any, hopefully I can find something once lockdown eases up.

Also I know Bubsy 3D is bad game but I managed to score myself a copy, I also grabbed Croc 1 too.

I decided to get an Evercade around January I was really just about to click buy and then I thought what am I doing is it really worth it etc, in the end I decided no and grabbed a PowKiddy Q90 instead, it only cost me £30 and came with a whole heap of games on it and the best thing is if your even a little tech savy you can add your own roms onto it. It comes with megadrive, mastersystem , gameboy advance snes and even ps1 games on it but the ps1 dont work that great. Since then I have had a brief go with a evercade in pawn store and yeah I am glad I didn't go down that route there ok and all but don't feel any better than a good knock of Chinese console dpad and button wise etc and it would just be a load of carts id end up buying when id rather spend the cash on old retro games for there original hardware. Heres my video of the Powkiddy ive tried other consoles but this is the Chinese one I stand by really on a power to cash ratio (if you want super powerful you can pay more but this ones in the sweet spot of cheap and yet decently powerful.)
