Thank you very much. I'd like to do a GameCube collection video myself as my collection ain't bad, I have Fire Emblem, Chibi Robo, Mario Baseball and other decent stuff but it's one of my collections where some is in a cupboard some is in a draw etc.
I have kind of been a bit lazy and started by doing the easy to find all in one place collections.
I grabbed a few bits today.
Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars for DS sealed for £2
X-Men Legends 2 boxed missing manual for £1
Dare Devil for GBA basically loose cart (it's in a flat crushed and ripped shread of a box) for £2
That's awesome! Where do you usually look when picking up games? I have a CEX literally round the corner from me so I always pop in, other than that I might get lucky on Facebook market place once in a while. Are there any other sources you'd recommend?
Kerr trawls all the charity shops within a five hundred mile radius, leaving everyone else with endless copies of Singstar, FIFA and Imagine Baby on DS.
Legend says if you leave out some un-boxed GameBoy carts on your back step, he might even visit your garden.
You have it spot on Devlin I often visit a range or charity shops, indys and pawn stores after work. In the past I went to a lot of car boots and markets but I have not made it to many of them recently. I also do look on things like ebay and amazon although they are not places that are often great you do get the odd miss titled game which ends up being a deal though.
To offer a bit of a how to guide for Doom Spoon and anyone else interested here is what I would say, be a good person is the best advice I have to give. If you visit a pawn store and they have old games be polite , say all your pleases and thank yous and also don't be afraid to ask stuff like '' Hey I am buying these two Gameboy carts you don't have any in you haven't put out yet do you'' if your polite and your buying you'll soon find that people get to know you, there's pawn stores where I know some of the staff members names, that they have kids, the stuff they collect themselves and we have quiet a nice report, when I walk in they will wish me a good morning or afternoon and then sometimes go ''oh hey look at this pile of PS2 games I am about to put out they came in tomorrow and I thought of you when we took them in''. Also it doesn't hurt to tell your friends and family what your into my daughter phones me to tell me she's seen things in a shop and will grab stuff for me, my other half will tell me if she see's stuff on a facebook market place.
Also if you have a good contact in a shop and they show you things sometimes buying something you don't need is not a bad move, if a guy has put a NES cart to the side for you and its only 3quid then even if you don't need it sometimes its worth buying it and saying thank you just to reinforce that you are into this stuff and that you really appreciate stuff being put to the side for you and stuff being shown to you. After all if your shown stuff 6 times and never have anything then they might decide your not that interested or your picky etc and you can always pass the stuff to friends who are into similar if you want to be helpful.
I am autistic and I have PTSD , I keep a lot of stress and anxiety in check and this video game hunting and the making of youtube videos and the pawing over my collections my games, my comic books my other bits and pieces helps keep me mentally healthy so if I get more games and stuff then great but if I don't im still wining as its keeping my stress down.
