Green Gecko wrote:How does the physical release of octopath traveller work? Or was that the one you could get from Club Nintendo or print yourself?
There's some strawberry floating wild camera distortion / perspective going on there in those pics
Octopath is just a standard physical release, can't remember where I got it but I just found it available on Argos still. As far as I'm aware it wasn't limited or anything.
And yes, the shelves are leaning forwards as they aren't fixed to the wall so that isn't helping (nor is the room being narrow so I can't step back very far from the shelves) but my phone camera has definitely seen better days. It's not so visible on these images because I resized them down and the noise got interpolated away but most photos I take now have what looks like a regular grid of dead pixels across them which I'm guessing is some problem that's developed with the CCD.

There are so many interesting items on show and I hope you won't mind if I comment / ask questions about a load of them!
Thanks Jawa! Not at all.
jawaX wrote:> I spy your limited edition versions of The Last Story and Ocarina on Wii! The Last Story steelbook is so nice and the Wii Gold Remote is legendary.
The Last Story is up there on my list of favourite JRPGs for sure, I'm glad I got that edition. With Skyward Sword I think the special edition with the wiimote is a pretty standard way of finding it - the controller having integrated motion+ is obviously great and I never had the motion+ addon so getting it was something of a necessity!
jawaX wrote:> I can see your Wii copy of No More Heroes... am I right in thinking you mentioned that you may get the limited collectors editions on Switch?
I received both the Limited Run Games collector's editions just the other week! I'll maybe post up some pictures, the boxes are too large for the shelves but they include physical versions of the games, a steelbook each, a soundtrack CD for each (pretty comprehensive multi-cd releases too), and a book each with some art, a written retrospective, and an interview with Suda51. Helping me get hyped for NMH3! I'd like to get NMH2 on Wii as I never had it and the NMH port for PS3 (which was the first game with some content from the second added).
You also just reminded me that also not included in those closeups but at the bottom of the PS4 shelf is The Silvercase 2425 on Switch, which just came out and you can get physical as a special edition through the NIS Europe store. That's a port of an older Suda51 game and I'm planning on playing it once I'm done with Monster Hunter Stories 2.
jawaX wrote:> Oh, man, you have Mad Max Ripper Edition!
. I'm genuinely envious; one of my fave games but I only have it digitally.
Not to feed your envy but yeah, it's a great looking steelbook. Properly embossed which is nicer than the cheaper flat printed steelbooks that are relatively common these days. I intend to go back and play the game some more, if I remember right MGSV came out not long after Mad Max which stopped me playing it first time round.
jawaX wrote:> ...and you have the - I think? - special version of The Last Guardian with the slip cover. That looks so neat.
It's a good looking cover for sure. I have Ico + SOTC HD collection on PS3 and that has a really nice looking reversible cover. I only just reversed it back to the standard actually so it lines up better on the shelf. The Ico box art might be my favourite ever.
jawaX wrote:> At first I was getting mad (
) about your Switch games not being in order - but then I noticed that you've gone for region/publisher order. That's a cool idea, dude!
Yeah the publisher is quite prominent on Switch cases with them all being the same design so I think it looks good to have them grouped that way - especially for all the Nintendo games. The imports having the title text left-aligned rather than centred also means they look better grouped together.
jawaX wrote:> I spy that collectors edition of Deadly Premonition! I'm so jell...are the badges good?
I still need to play it on Switch! I have the game on PS3 and played a little of it there and was intending to see it through to completion on Switch, but I got it at a busy time. The badges do look great though, I'll share a picture if I remember.
jawaX wrote:> What are the three Japanese Switch titles that you have, Orange?
Katamari Damacy Encore/Reroll, Okami HD, and Monster Hunter XX. Katamari and Okami have English language options and only had digital releases over here which is why I imported them. Monster Hunter XX I bought just before the localisation (Generations Ultimate) got announced and it ended up arriving only a couple of months before the release date for the EU release, so I never actually played it
