My N64 (and GB) game boxes are all in varying levels of nick, but I don't think I have any as nice as that unfortunately!

The only Nintendo games that came in cardboard boxes I still have said boxes for are my GBA games, my Gameboy and N64 games are unboxed, with the exceptions of Goldeneye and Diddy Kong Racing.

Really? I had no idea.

I knew it was a rare one, but still, that's a lot of money for one game.

I have a whole bunch of others in similar condition too, including Banjo Tooie, Majoras Mask, and the original Super NES Starwing.

The mintier a box gets, the price dramatically inflates if you list it properly. That's because sealed N64 games are very rare, so well kept boxes are the next best thing.

Also, strawberry float sealed games, some people still play games.

I don't pay much attention to the worth of the games I own not unless I happen to see them in a CEX window and think sheeesh that's worth a load.

That's a nice quality N64 game Verm, very nice to see one like that.

I do for N64 because it's still my intention to get the lot eventually.

Agreed with Gecko. And it's from the right era - anything released after 2000 will get big money if it's in the right condition. Only 16 were released in the UK and they all go for quality money if they're in that kind of condition - especially Mario Party 3, Paper Mario, Aidyn Chronicles, Conker's BFD, Banjo-Tooie and Pokemon Stadium GS. If you've got any of them boxed and in good nick you're immediately looking at £150, in the kind of condition yours is in yeah. You're definitely looking at £300+ I'd reckon. There are a few other big ones outside that period too - boxed Chameleon Twist 2 will set you back nearly a ton, Rush 2049 is insane, and four games were only released in AUS PAL so you're looking at £600+ for them.

Anyway, if you ever fancy selling Banjo-Tooie or Majora in that nick, give me a shout. :slol:

It's like when I look at my excellent condition copies of soleil, story of Thor and gunstar heroes on the megadrive. Crazy the money they can fetch.

Yeah I don't get sealed games (unless you want a new game to open, I get that, I mean to keep sealed in a collection). Games can be nice physical objects to appreciate but playing them is their purpose, it's the essential quality of them as objects. If you aren't appreciating that, what are you collecting?

I actually have a couple of sealed games but it's not because I'm keeping them for anything, just that I haven't had the opportunity to play them yet. Pokemon Sun(weirdly enough) and New Pokemon Snap, and I think a couple of others.

My retro buying has kinda slowed down a lot recently. The only CRT I have is back in Wales and my god is it difficult to source CRT's in 2021 meaning I can't play my old systems in my flat.
I'm still mad the shop I lent my spare CRT's to for game nights threw them out when it closed down.

Buying wise I've had some decent pick ups at fairly cheap prices over the last 6 months:
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Japanese) £36 - Got to play this for a few hours while visiting family, honestly worth it for Maniac difficulty alone.

Kirby Super Deluxe (Super Famicom) £4.80 - Cart only. I have this already on Wii U VC and SNES Online but it is the best Kirby game and one I wanted to own physical. Hopefully I'll get a chance to test it in the future.

Super Mario Land 1/2, Wario land 1/2/3, Mario Picross (Japanese) £14.50 - Didn't really need these games at all but for that price I might as well they are all quality gameboy games.

PaRappa the Rapper 2 (PS2, Japanese) - £7.30 - I don't get many chaces to buy good PS2 imports as they're often overpriced, games with remasters or just stuff not worth the buy. I've always liked this game so for the price it was worth the punt.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Games - Lots of these: World Championships 2004/5/6 for GBA and World Championships 2007, 2009 and Nightmare Troubadour all for DS, I've been on a bit of a yugioh thing as you can tell. World Championship 2006 is excellent.

Been playing a bit of retro on my switch also. Final Fantasy Adventure on the Collection of Mana is a good port and the game itself is honestly still alright, and people say gameboy games don't hold up.

Would you be interested in selling these? I've got warioland 2 which I'm currently playing, but I sold the others years and years ago, but refuse to pay the shitty eBay prices to get them back. I've got warioland on my 3ds, but it's just not the same playing them on there.

I've not long had them and will probably play through them first (also need to make sure they actually work) but I'll keep this in mind if I do decide to pass them on.

I wanted Mario Party 3, but sadly i could only afford one game at the time so i went and got Paper Mario.

I also wanted Conker, but the price was £59.99 which was bloody daylight robbery (Banjo was 49, still excessive, but not quite as bad, so i went for that instead too).

Might try and dig out Starwing for a video at some point though.

Conker with a torn label cart only was £130 yesterday in CEX.

It's not that good of a game, but I should have bought the rental copy lol

CEX can be a hive of torn labels crushed boxes, reprinted front covers etc and a lot of the time they dont care its still full RRP ... I did however get some SNES games and a GBA game from CEX boxed for cart only price because in the odd branch if there in not so good condition they seem to charge cart only prices but its certainly not something done through all branches.
