The vast majority of GBA pokemon games on ebay etc are likely fake, ranging from obvious to pretty convincing (I'm thinking Fire Red / Leaf Green etc but also unrelated titles like Metroid Zero Mission and even more obscure ones like Metal Gear for GBC - I saw this counterfeit in a gameboy classic cart shell in grey, it still sold below the going rate :fp:).

Yeah I wouldnt feel good about buying much GBA wise from Ebay at all as I think with GBA you really need to look at them carefully and study them and you cant do that from what are often poor pictures.

All the GBA stuff I'm listing on Ebay will have multiple photos showing the box, contents, and the cart from multiple angles, I've got a couple of them which I know are genuine but will likely look dodgy due to the boxes being slightly different to the Nintendo published games (Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Final Fight have slightly glossier boxes, THPS2 has a different cardboard insert and Pinball of the Dead has a matte finish to the box).

I know they're almost certainly genuine because they all came from Gamestation when my brother worked there as he bought them on my behalf and personally took them out of the stock room when they were delivered by the distributer/supplier.

Sometimes people upload pics with the back cover off so you can see the pcb, for really rare games, might up your selling price.

That's a great collection, didn't know it was a thing. Are there many like that?

In total honesty I didnt know it was a thing till I saw this, I have seen on line there is a Stealth Triple pack as well which is hitman, thief and Deus Ex... there could be more but I have only seen the two.

Completed Super Mario RPG tonight. I get that the release of the N64 meant they didn’t bother with it in Europe but it’s a damn shame. What a brilliant game.

I completely forgot that's on the snes classic. Ivr have played it, how long is the game? Might make it a Christmas game to play.

Short by RPG standards. Like 12 hours maybe?

HLTB says 17 hours. Still short for the genre. You can tell it was designed as “my first rpg” and that’s not to disparage it. It’s almost a relaxing romp.

I don't know if any "older" GRcadians may remember this electronic game... it's Grandstand's Jack and the Beanstalk, originally made by Epoch Japan. It released in 1983 and it's an LCD game that runs on solar power; no batteries required.

One of my pal's had the game and I used to enjoy playing it when visiting. Anyway... yesterday the dude surprised me by handing me a mint-in-box version :o . It's in incredible condition; undamaged box, complete with polystyrene insert, manual, warranty card, advertising poster and plastic packet. Bloomin' brilliant!

(Stock picture; not my one!)

That is so cool! I also read grandstand as grandad, and thought your grandad was a gamer.

I love those old electronic games, they really trigger nostaligia in me. Getting something like that at Christmas and playing the hell out of it. I've still got all my old ones, and when I fired up my favourite one, the sounds of it was like an instant time machine back to being 10 at Christmas.

I've heard of Grandstand as a Pong clone company, didn't know they did other stuff. Very cool.

Haha, they sure can take you back. You might be surprised at the prices (in good condition) that they can go for nowdays, Victor - they're highly collectible.

Johnny, yeah, Grandstand were one of the main electronic game publishers in the UK; they had lots of titles, often re-badged or licensed from the original Japanese manufacturer.

The pal who gave me the above game has around fifteen of the games; he was really into them during their peak 1982 to 1985 period. Bandai produced a lot of great models including stuff like Frankenstein, Terror House and Airport Panic. The solar tech is amazing; play the games with no need for expensive batteries :-).

As a kid I had a Munchman table top game. It was the Grandstand published localisation of Tomy’s Pac Man LCD game. Cool little machine.

Ah! I recall the Munchman game, Cumbers, although I've not played it. I think there was a Munchman Mini, too!
