Yeah I have had a quick bash on it, seems pretty good.

I was really worried that Kid Dracula would be fake despite having all the right markings on it just because it cost me £5 and I've seen the loose cart go for £50 before (seen people ask a lot more for it like £110 but doubt there getting it) but having got inside it and studied the board yep it's a bonerfide real original version.

Grabbed a loose cart of Pokemon Silver for the Gameboy color for £15 today, happy as I strangely have about 3 copies of Gold but never got my hands on silver.

Beautiful front cover of the latest Retrogamer, showing off some R-Type artwork. Love this magazine

Dug out my OG PS1 for some nostalgia smack this evening, that startup sequence is just everything to me :datass:  Everything worked at the first time of asking despite being 25+ years old, which is testament to the Logitech bag/padded briefcase that I keep all of my PS1 stuff in, that gooseberry fool would survive a meteor strike 8-)

Some brief thoughts on the games I played:

FIFA97 - Jesus, how did I ever play this
TOCA Touring Cars - Jesus, how did I ever play this
Micro Machines V3 - Jesus, how did I ever play this
Porsche Challenge - actually pretty fun
Nuclear Strike - actually pretty fun
Tomb Raider 2 - Jesus, how did I ever play this
Die Hard Trilogy - Jesus, how did I ever play this

Time has not been kind to mid-90s 3D graphics :dread:

Still, great evening

No Tekken?

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Tekken 1 is bad, Tekken 2 is good but feels heavy and cumbersome by today’s standards, Tekken 3 is as perfect as it ever was.

Graphically you wouldn’t even think 3 is the same system (true of a number of PSone games from ‘98 onwards).

I've said it several times before but Namco were absolute masters at squeezing every single bit of performance from the PS1, Ridge Racer Type 4 looked light years ahead of the 3 previous games..

The only other PS1 game that managed to look as good while running smoothly was Wip3out.

The 'hi--res' mode was witchcraft, there's no other explanation.

I actually preferred the first Battle Arena Toshindon to the first Tekken on PS1 but Tekken 2 was light years ahead of 2Tekkrn, Toshindon 2 was practically a street fighter 2 upgrade kind of level thing rather than a real sequel.

I remember lots of friends having original PlayStations at launch and only having 1 game for like 6 months luckily one lad I got on with had Tekken, one had Toshindon and one had Ridge Racer. I was a little later getting my PlayStation and I'm struggling to remember my first game, I remember playing Demo 1 more than anything.

I don't actually own a single fighting game on PS1. In fact, now that I think of it, I think the only fighting game that I own on any system is Injustice on PS4, and that's only because it was a free download. Just not that much of a fighting game fan, although I oddly can name most of the Tekken roster.

I have one of the Tekken games on a demo disc (Tekken 3, maybe?) but that's as close as I ever got on PS1.

I was a bit late to the PS1 party too, think I got it around 18 months post launch with GTA and Pandemonium 2, a few days later I got Tekken 2 and Ridge Racer Revolution.

Good times.

I think I had one about 6 months after launch and I basically grabbed whatever I could get cheap, the first PlayStation game I got full price at release was resident Evil. I then finished resident Evil and traded it in, the local games place did me a straight swap, resident Evil in exchange for my machine being chipped to play imports and back ups. It's funny what you remember and what you don't remember.

When I got my PlayStation, my parents also got me about 15 games with it (it was all second hand from one person). Best bit being most of those games were almost new out, so the ones I wanted like destruction derby 2, tomb raider and so on, I kept, and the others like fifa I traded for quite a lot of money. Ended up getting a good library of games for not much money.

Oh strawberry float that day when I got that, a whole shelf of amazing games to play, I was in gaming heaven.

Anyone ever played Lost Kingdoms 2? Going back to my parents for a bit after May 17th and looking forward to replaying this classic.

Unfortunately I played 2 before 1 and when I went back afterwards to play 1 it seemed a bit limited.
