True Lies came from this really cruddy mobile phone shop they just randomly had like 8 Gameboy carts in the window, this was the only one that was a decent price.

Donkey Kong land 2 was from a retro game shop where most things were massively over priced an NTSC loose SNES cart of street fighter 2 World Warrior was £25 for example, but I went through everything looking for something decently priced.

I go to lots of Pawn stores, Indy game stores, charity shops and just look for weird shops that strangely happen to have games. I am autistic and suffer from PTSD and anxiety and hunting for cheap games is something that seems to calm me down, it's a bit of an adiction but I guess I could be doing worse things like shooting crack lol

You're in Hucknall aren't you? Do you know anywhere decent in Nottingham for the next time I'm there?

There is a games shop the name of which escapes me which is down a tiny out of the way road, I will check next time I'm in town he has lots of stuff the prices vary but he is often open to offers (it's like 5 minutes from the Victoria center).if your willing to stray a bit and take a bus if you go to Kirkby via the number 3 bus there's a really cool toy and game shop on there main shopping street. Other than that it's just the usual CEX's and charity shops. Nottingham used to have a lot more game shops but they have all died in the last 5 years or so, even the best one in bout near neighbour Derby has died only leaving one which tends to be mega expensive for most things.

Not aware of the Notts one you're talking about so if it comes back to you then let me know, I'd be interested in a wander round it.

There would have to be some stunning bargains to get me to go to Kirkby though. :dread:

Parallel Universe is the shop in Nottingham, the name just came to me, its a games comic books, card game, nerdy model type place. Its on Trinity Walk which is one of the side roads that go up to the corner house. The Owners a really nice guy really welcoming, willing to take money off if your buying lots of stuff at the same time or sometimes if you just make a fair offer on something. The shop started as a stall inside the Victoria centre indoor market then it had a shop on the outskirts of Nottingham and then he got this more central one. The only bad thing I will say is that despite having opening hours he kind of seems to open as and when he feels like it.

The Kirkby one is called the Kirkby Video Game exchange and it does have a fair degree of old stuff but there doesn't seem to be a mega fast turnaround of stock, but they do sell a lot of modern second hand games cheaper than the likes of CEX and have friendly staff, its one of those places where I only tend to go have a look about once every 6 months. It is one of the only places Kirkby has that is worth a monkeys to be honest, my trips there I will look in there then the few charity shops they have, maybe have a meal in the wetherspoons and then just leave.

Good Indy shops are getting a lot harder to find though.

Got a few (mostly) PS3 games heading my way (Though I hesitate to class it as retro just yet).

Killzone (PS2)
Killzone 2/3
Genji
Ridge Racer 7
Heavenly Sword
Lair
God of War III
God of War Ascension

Generally a few quid off ebay, so not an expensive purchase all round.

Check out my YouTube channel!

I went to check that Parallel Universe is still in business and that covid hadn't killed it and I'm very happy to report it's still there, the owners a great guy and I like little Indy businesses so I'm glad covid didn't kill it. Plus I'd hate for someone visit when I've mentioned it just to find an empty building.

I grabbed a few bits today

The Flash cart only for Gameboy for £6
Out to Lunch Cary only for £4

Music 2000 (best sellers version) complete for the PS1 for £1.25
And MySims for the Wii complete for £1.25

I’m trying to hunt down one of the old game guides for Resident Evil 3 (I think there’s about 3 that were officially licensed out at the time). Unfortunately they’re all ludicrously priced. I was just wondering if there were any independent book shops in the UK that would be likely to stock something like that.

Where would you even start? I guess comic book shops would be more likely to stock than a "proper" book store? Are you collecting game guides?

I have seen a fair few old game guides in the Oxfam book charity shops if you have any near it might be worth a visit or a call but they could be reasonably pricey as they do tend to do some research into book value

I don't have any motorstorm games, and I forget what I still have, but I'll sell you some of my stuff for a good price if you're interested.

Started rooting through some of my Gameboy carts and realized I have 3 loose carts of Pokemon Crystal and a whole bunch of things I'd forgot I even owned, I figure I'm going to make a video of them. I did a recent Gameboy, Gameboy color and Gameboy advanced games grabbed during covid video but figure I'm going to record one of everything else I own or at least everything I can find loose cart wise, I have the odd boxed thing but in honesty most of the boxes probably aren't great and are stored away from the carts (all the carts are out and in my boxes).

I recorded two videos today but need to check and edit them, one is the vast majority of my Gameboy Gameboy color and Gameboy advanced games and the other is my Sega Saturn collection which is not a very big collection so I thought it would 0be a good place to start. I'd like to try and put one of these out once a month maybe, it takes a lot of work though because a lot of my stuff is buried in the back of this and that cupboard.

Got a free wii motion plus and copies of Mario & Sonic 2008, wii sports in the full case and mario party 8, by buying a bundle from facebook marketplace and selling the rest for the same price.

This time next year we'll be millionaires :datass:

That's a decent collection, don't think I've ever actually seen a copy of Krazy Ivan before.

My own Saturn collection (from recollection, they're currently in a huge storage box).

Virtua Fighter 2
Sega Worldwide Soccer
Clockwork Knight
Theme Park
Panzer Dragoon
Daytona USA
Fighting Vipers
Fighters Megamix
Sonic R
Command & Conquer
The Need for Speed
Hi-Octane
Wipeout 2097
Virtua Cop 2
NiGHTS
Saturn Bomberman (lost the disc though :fp: :x )
Hardcore 4x4
Athlete Kings
King of Fighters '95
Mass Destruction
Virtual On: Cyber Troopers
Soviet Strike

Nothing particularly rare or valuable but there's some great games in there.

Shame most of the original type boxes (the glued on cardboard covers) have fallen apart due to the glue going brittle (I guess they can be reglued).

I think I had Hi-Octane at some point, really not sure whatever happened to it. Yeah the boxes really do just start falling apart, I wish they had all been the nicer plastic ones some of the games would occasionally come in. Its kind of a harder machine to collect for because you seldom see the games for it, I cant even remember the last time I saw a Saturn game in an indy games shop not even an expensive one.
